I'm bored with what books I have. I mean there's over 20 of them I still need to read but I don't want to start them yet. Any reccommendations? I've barely started reading a book for my first days of college this fall, but I want something else to read to balance out its depressingness.

So, please send me any reccommendations.

THE GREEN MILE!!! It is the best book I've ever read.

George W. Bush recommends 'Where's Waldo?'.

He says it will keep you damn busy.

I just finished reading Black Creek Crossing by John Saul. He's my favorite for the scary stuff.

Amen to that!

Here are some authors I've been reading recently. I'd recommend almost any book by these people.

-Hubert Selby (new favorite)
-Lisa Scottoline
-James Patterson (especially the Women's Murder Club books - 1st to Die, 2nd Chance, 3rd Degree, and 4th of July)
-Peter Straub
-E. Lynn Harris
-F.X. Toole
-Robert Bloch
-Jonathan Kellerman
-And, as always, Stephen King
-Peter Straub

Thanks for all the suggestions, and to answer your question Queenleaf, I just want a good fiction story that would keep my attention for awhile, especially while I'm reading Angela's Ashes.

hmmm... Not sure. You could try Murder Must Advertise by Dorothy Sayers... It's a mystery though obviously. But I love it. No books are really coming to mind...

Hey William, have you read 'From The Corner of His Eye' by Koontz? He has another book I really love called 'False Memory'

Koontz and Grisholm are among my favorite writers.. besides the obvious Stephen King and Larry Flynt... ;-) Ok.. maybe not Flynt.

I gave up on books when 'To Kill A Mockingbird' gave me no useful advice on how to kill a mockingbird.

The Birth Of Venus and Mapping The Edge by Sarah Dunant. She's an amazing writer! I like The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, too.

Any book by Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity.

Those pages make great toilet paper.
