This is something I have already posted on the QOL forum -- but I thought it would concern quite a few people here too. Sorry for those who use both notice boards.

FOR EVERY NON-UK RESIDENT WHO PURCHASED A HYDE PARK TICKET THROUGH TICKETMASTER...

As you know, you will not receive your ticket(s), and therefore will have to collect it/them from the box-office, located in front of gate X1.

The problem I want to emphasize here, is that the box-office will open at 3 pm, that is, at the same time gates open.

Which means that while English people will enter the park with their tickets, non-English customers will still be waiting to get theirs from the box-office. Basically, that also means international customers will automatically be the farthest away from the stage, when they eventually get into the park.

This, I think, is quite simply not acceptable.

For example, I have had to pay 110€ for travel and hotel, and decided I would arrive very early in the morning to queue and get a decent view. My train arrives at 8:30 am! At the time, gold circle tickets (which I wanted to get) were no longer available, so I got a general admission one.
I must have spent a little fortune on phone calls to Ticketmaster. The first time I was told that my ticket was being sent to my French address, which was either a mistake or a lie. On my second call, I got disconnected after maybe 15 minutes of (mainly) waiting.
Now I’m told I will spend 110+70=180€ to go to London and “see” a concert from the very back of a park, just because Ticketmaster is unable to ship my ticket within 10 days (sh*t, it takes 2 hours to go from London to where I live!) and is also unable to open its box-office at least a few hours before gates open.

To everyone who feels concerned by the situation… I think we can do something together.
- Ask Ticketmaster to open the box-office before 2 pm.
- For those with General Admission tickets: Ask for an upgrade to gold circle (which I was denied yesterday on the phone). I myself am ready to pay the 10 extra pounds.

If anyone is willing to draft a petition or something (as I don’t feel fluent enough to do that), I would greatly appreciate that. Of course it’s not just about me. Many of us are concerned.

Thank you.

I would say UK residents instead of "English people". A Spaniard living in Derry (Nothern Ireland) would have received his/her tickets on time, if you get me. :-) By the way, I wonder if Gibraltar residents are considered "overseas" .. :-)
The problem has nothing to do with time of delivery, but that "ticketbastard" cannot trace international registered post, so they only post the tickets to addresses serviced by Royal Mail.

Having said that, I share your frustration but I don't think "Ticketbastard" will listen to us in a short space of time. I am flying from Dublin early in the morning as I booked my ticket long before this "abuse" was announced, so I will queue anyway, this time outside the X1 gate just in case tickets are delivered before gates open.

I am in the same situation, and I agree totally with what "zakroyen" wrote Ticketmaster have our e-mail addresses but could not be bothered to send an e-mail saying that we needed to collect the tickets from the box office. Well, thanks for giving fans abroad the well known finger...

I asked ticketmaster if they would open the box-office earlier so that we would not end up at the far back. But no... I was told that it was their policy to open it at the same time as they open the gates blabla...

I am flying from Bergen (in Norway) tomorrow, only to be "rewarded" by getting the worst possible view in Hyde Park on friday...Juhu...thumbs up for Ticketmaster.

There will be a queue of 70000 people with tickets, and a queue of 500 people without.

I guarantee you'll get in before at least half of the crowd.

I guess we will all meet up in queue in front of the box office :) My disappointed is only that I paid for delivery to my country and that they state they will ship it. Since they are not able to I think it would be fair for them to give me back that part of my money.

hcrvelin:
Ticketmaster did accept to give me a refund for the £3.50 special delivery cost.
You should call them and ask for that.

By the way, pirrakitas, you are right: i should have said England residents rather than English people.

Are you still going to the gig? Who did you call at Ticketmaster? What number (if you still have it.) Thanks!

I'll try that first thing in the morning. CLTCL, I assume we need to call the number which is listed on their webpage. If you go to http://ticketmaster.custhelp.com there is a question about phone numbers and it lists several of those we can call. Hopefully, I won't have to speak to machine for hours...

Hmm.. and since http://ticketmaster.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ticketmaster.cfg/php/enduser/popup_adp.php?p_sid=A6y7iOJh&p_lva=300&p_li=&p_faqid=6385&p_created=1096471553&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0xNDUmcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX2ZubCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**#Q
(hopefully this will work) list "#
Please Note: If you have used an overseas address when booking tickets, these will be available for collection at the box office on the day of the event; tickets will not be sent out." and everyone had to pay mail delivery - I would expect everyone will get their money back at box office. To be 100% sure I just opened a support ticket with TM service via web. If I get something I'll let you know.

yes, i'm still going.

the number i called was 00 44 161 385 3613 (international customers service). if it doesn't work the first time you call, try again. there seems to be some kind of trick to discourage people to talk to an advisor (or am i being paranoid?). i always got disconnected on my first attempt to call the number. strangely, on the second attempt, the message was different, and i could eventually get to talk with someone.

not sure you'll get your refund at the box-office. plus, if everyone asks for a refund at the BO, it will take a LONG time for international customers to get into the park!

Sorry for late response... I work in business building very next to Liverpool Str. and we have been evacuated and since then I've been walking around and as last thing did a long walk from London Tower area (not exactly but near that spot) to Paddington. I did receive the response from TM after opening the call with them and here is the response:
"I have refunded the postage charge to the card used to make the booking."

Not sure if they will do it if you don't ask so simply check your card and just do it. I hope this helps.

Ok, guys. And what if I will not be able to be there tomorrow to collect my tickets? Does anyone know? The gig is not going ahead anyhow tomorrow, so will the box office still be there? I mean, will they let 70000 people stay in a queque in a heart of bombed London?! I cannot access TM to find it out, maybe you already did?

My understanding is that box office will open on day of the event - and event is on July 15th now and not tomorrow so no worries.

To add following: if you have more tickets than you need you can refund them. I had 2 GC tickets and now after rescheduling I need only one (for myself) as other person won't be able to attend. I send email to TM and they did cancel my second ticket and did refund it. I believe someone did ask this question somewhere...

Yes, thanks for this note. I also succeeded today in solving all problems with tickets and they promised me a refund.
Funny story is that just after I got from them the email, called me mum of my colleague asking if I still has two tickets for a concert, because her daughter wanted to go :-)
By the way, does anyone know if tickets are still available somewhere?
