Since I'm not sure if I should reply in older topics I made or not, here goes a New topic.

I went in for my 3 audioligist (sp) vist,( was activated June 24th) and they gave me a test to take, the first since pre-surgey and found that my hearing now is practially around the normal range, I was able to respond to 7, Dunno the full thing, but the list had normal hearing responce -10 to 25, my full test was all under 20 ( I think that is how it goes?) I was able to get allmost 100% on the test where the ysay a full sentence, I missed like only 2 words out of 20 sentence's, I think I did pretty good on the repeating words, kinda got me when they would say words I really have not heard in such a long time and it starting to get annoying when it would say "Ready" before every word.

Right now im practically on the highest setting, I go back in about 3 weeks to get it tweaked somewhat. Today at Best buy I was able to hear everything the saleman was talking about with my hearing ear in the opposite side, which was kinda sweet with the place jam packed. I know it is mostly my cochlear implant as my normal hearing side is very bad in terms of hearing.
Overall since I got this implant I found I am much more happy in terms of my life, with being able to hear around my friends and follow the converstions, I admit there are times I get lost and lose a word here and there, that is when missing the start of every sentence/converstaions.

It's really nice to be able to listen to other talk some time's and not look at them, something I have wanted to do in such a long time, as before I had to pratically stare at some one to be able to follow along, I guess the hardest part is learning how some people say words and how some words are pronouced, since I have not heard some words I would say them rather differently.

So far for a update in what I like/dislike
I'm used the sound of water, so it does not bother me much any more.

I find the phone ringing rather annoying, I admit I have had very bad thought's about certain ways I can destory it.

The police car/firetruck siren is way annoying, I do admit to still luaghing at people who get pulled over for speeding.

Hearing the female voice on TV or in person, some girls have a very high pitch and to me sound quite annoying, I pray a thanks to god that I'm not with them, and they can leave when the coneverstaion/tv show is over with.

My cat, some times when there is another cat or animal outside he can meow nonstop or when he wants to go outside for a min, I admit I looked up online if I could find a vet that could remove his vocal cords.

Frying foods...or stri fry...My god...is that loud!
And finally...I found out how Annoying I am with all the sounds I mimic and make when Im bored, penical tapping and fingernail tapping...well, Im still quite proud that I am annoying, I just do it less when I have my cochlear on, and lots when I take it off.

MY GOD spell it write.

" I admit I looked up online if I could find a vet that could remove his vocal cords."

Lol, you should hear the canary of my mother, he could possibly make your cochlear implant explode:))

You have to get used to the annoying sounds of this world, that's the price to pay for being able to hear music again:) Sooner or later you will love the noises of your cat.

It's a miracle, isn't it :)
