So... Is there a solo version and a separate Generation X version?
I'm not that familiar with his early career. :/

What do you mean by ACTUALLY? On the record it's credited to Billy Idol/Tony James.

There's a Generation X version, released in 1981. Then, Billy left the group and released a solo EP that same year with a remix of the song. So, yeah, there's 2 versions -- the original version by Generation X and a remixed version by Billy.

On the floor of Tokyo
Or down in London town to go, go
With the hand selection
With the mirror reflection
I'm playing with myself

When there's no-one else in sight
In the crowded lonely night
Well I wait so long
For my love vibration
And I'm playing with myself

Oh playing with myself
Oh playing with myself
Well there's nothing to lose
And in just a few moves
I'll be playing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And there's every type of girl
But my super eyes
See right though your disguise
Leave me playing with myself

So just's sink another drink
'Cause it'll give me time to think
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to go inside my pants
And I'll be playing with myself

Oh playing with myself
Oh playing with myself
Well there's nothing to lose
And in a couple of moves
I'll be playing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And there's every type of girl
That has that ass
Is something I dont pass
Leave me playing with myself

So let's sink another drink
'Cause it'll give me time to think
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to get inside my pants
And I'll be playing with myself

Oh playing with myself
Oh playing with myself
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to get in my pants
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to give me a dance
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to get inside my pants

[Scat]

Playing with myself
Playing with myself
Playing with myself
Playing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And there's every type of girl

Is something I dont pass
Leave me playing with myself
