Hi Everyone...

Sorry i have'nt been on here much ....i just don't spend a lot of time here anymore.

I do visit once in a great while, and have noticed a lot of negative feelings towards that "other Queen Site" QueenOnline.

So my question is this...purely out of curiosity and not in any way ment to take sides or stir the pot...

Why is QueenOnline so frowed upon here? I sense there is a not-so-nice rivalry between these two websites which does'nt make sense considering we are all here to appreciate Queen. Why the seemingly intense hatred in some cases?

Some honest views and opinions please...what are your thoughts on this matter?

No rivalry - I often write in both, but...

Queenonline is official and can be a bit Stepfordish for my tastes. Furthermore, they have also been known to censor "unfavourable" mail.

Over here is far less sheepish, and although we are all Queen fans too, we are not afraid to criticise, if Queen Productions keep bombarding us with sh*t products.

I also think it is a matter of personal preference, some prefer one to the other - and that's fine - because between both sites, they seem to encompass the majority of fans.

Personally, I prefer in here because it allows me the freedom to write what I like, and others the freedom to critise what I have to say!

Honestly I don't know what's up with the hate between both websites...I was just reading a thread on QOL about Queenzone and the distaste between the two sites did surprise me...I don't have a problem with either forum - I think they both have their positive and negative, even though I only post on Queenzone (I am registered for QOL but something went wrong and I just decided against getting addicted to any more forums!).

Maybe it's the lack of boxsets that's got us all so bitter? ;)

The moderators on QOL are a bit manipulative and catty. The moderators at QOL have been known to edit and change the contents of posts without noting that the posts were edited.

They post there; I post here. To me, it's a matter of personal preference and any animosity between the two boards is ridiculous. Each board has a purpose and style, and there is no reason why they can't co-exist.

Still, I think labelling QZ as ''pathetic'' and calling QZers ''refuse'' is stupid. QZ does have a different attitude when compared to QOL, but life would be boring if everyone posted the same.

This site is for the fans, offering what we want.

Queenonline is merely an official site that sometimes posts something good, but if it does, this site will scoop it and link me there.

Basically, there are 3 sights I visit for Queen:

QueenZone(awesome, especially for getting free downloads of concerts)

Brianmay.com(the best site on the net, I think. It's like reality web.)

Queenpluspaulrodgers.com(for tour news and such)

I think I write here more because I found this first. Queen were my first band when my musical taste changed. I liked Eminem and Snoop Dogg 'til I hit puberty and then I saw Queen at the Jubilee and it all changed. I went on to like U2 and Bon Jovi and Zepplin but because I found Queen first they remain my fav. And 'coz I found this first I tend to prefer here.

I'm not a great fan of queenonline either.

QZ seems to have a certain aspect of freedom which queenonline lacks.

I've joked about QOL, but I have no real problem with the place aside from the waaay over the top moderation. I hate the way some over there jump to the conclusion that QZ is nothing but negativity and fighting then proceed with calling the place "pathetic." If you have never even posted here, how can you say that? In all fairness, I've only seen a few people on there that do this.

rift? hate? war?

Are we talking about the same sites? There's a bit of banter, but nothing like the levels you suggest...
