Queen's video for BoRhap, was as we all know, directed by a THEN little known director named Bruce Gowers.

Amazingly..3 decades later, Gowers is the director of numerous excellent MTV videos, also the Eagles' ''Hell Freezes Over'' VH1 comeback concert, also, Fleetwood Mac's ''The Dance'' VH1 comeback concert, and.....

....every episode of ''American idol'', one of the biggest TV hits in the USA and a hit worldwide.

I would like to know HOW and WHY Queen originally discovered, chose, and collaborated with Bruce Gowers, to take a chance on him directing their most pivotal, landmark video....which since has propelled Gowers' VERY successful career as well.

Because he filmed Queen live at the Rainbow in November 1974. And by the way he filmed not only Bo Rhap, but You're My Best Friend, Somebody To Love and Tie Your Mother Down also.

Sergey, thanks, I never knew that, but...

...How did Queen and Bruce Originally find out about one another in the first place, what was their very FIRST work/collaboration together, and is Bruce from the UK, or USA?

He was just another budding director - they could have chosen Ridley Scott just as easily, who was (I think) still directing commercials at that point.

In the same way that you wouldn't expect to find Johnny Depp in A Nightmare On Elm Street, Robbie Coltrane in Flash Gordon, or Clint Eastwood doing Rawhide.

...unless you accepted that everyone starts somewhere, of course.
