Thanx for sharing... I'll try to capture this program for the people who can't see it!! But be aware of the fact that it's spoken in German.

My that is nice to see, but then the German people are just wonderful regarding Freddie since he did live in Munich for (I think three years or so, my memory is fading sicne I'm old) LOL!

I lived there myself for two years after Freddie died with a wonderful man who helped teach me German, Gott Segnet Deutschland! (I hope I spelled it right?)

Cheers,
David

How about mine? Friend taught me this, but I guess I know what is it about...

Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles,
Uber alles in der Welt,
Wenn es stets zu Schutz und Trutze
Bruderlich zusammenhalt,
Von der Maas bis an die Memel,
Von der Etsch bis an den Belt -
Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles,
Uber alles in der Welt...

Cheers,
Serry

Just finished watching the program, it was produced by Rudi Dolezal, who was responsible for most of the Queen video clips (I guess you know...).
Fine report with lots of first hand interviews (Mary Austin, Jim Hutton, Mick Rock, Peter Freestone, Mack, Jer Bulsara, Diana Moseley, his Indian teacher, Roger, Brian ...), lots of details about his youth and even bits of his private life. The music score and the few performance clips perfectly matched the scenes, almost no hits, more of the rarely heard tunes.
I'm a total idiot because I missed to tape it.

Good night,

Yeah - I thought it was good. We must find someone not connected to Queen as we are to judge it. Most of the scenes where previously released though.
As far as I remember, the only new bit to me was Freddie in Munich getting into the 560sec Mercedes and driving around (better: be driven around). Was that Terry driving? Anyone?

The driver was Reinhold Mack and this footage was not new, either. The programme was a 45 minute edit of the Untold Story

I did not expect something new because it was for the general public and it's cool that they added Freddie to this series.

However, if you never heard much about Freddie you must have gotten the impression that he was a legend because he was born in Sansibar and died of AIDS. Even footage from Live Aid was voiced over with stories about Freddie's lifestyle, while the music, his song writing and his voice played a minor role in the programme. For example, the Brian May interview parts dealt with Freddie und Mary, Freddie's name change and Freddie's homosexuality.

And I swear I get sick when I have wo watch Mick Rock and Peter Freestone one more time.

I do not want any google ads here.

Did you expect anything else from a Freddie Mercury docu?

When there's a Freddie Mercury documentairy it's always about homosexuality, his extravagant parties or Aids. Never they tell about his musical skills.
