I've heard it from bootlegs and it sounds great, and it's the only one song than is sung by Roger & Brian. What the fuck! Does anybody knows why it isn't included in ROTC? :(

Because Queen Productions NEVER release a complete show, just to annoy the fans.

Hey, they need somewthing to make sure we will buy this thing AGAIN when they are re-releasing it in about 15 years! :-)

Well if you've heard the bootleg then you've also heard the intro, where Brian clearly states that it's a song just for the audience and won't be on the DVD. So it's a little bonus just for the live audience. You could ask Brian why, but he doesn't seem to answer many letters anymore :-P

It is because Brian & Roger don't want to share their royalties with David Bowie since he co-wrote the song with Queen. They think is enough sharing royalties with John, who's at home resting and receiving his monthly check, and Mary Austin, who receives Freddie's royalties for life.....It's all business if you think about it. (is the only reason that I can think of since Under Pressure is one of the greatest and well known song by Queen).

That's complete bull. Brian and Roger don't need the royalty's. It's just what is mentioned above, it was just for the fans of the live-show.

Bri and Rog probably thought the version they were performing wasn't good enough for the DVD

Apparently they do need every penny they can get, or the concert tickets would have been cheaper.

If the quality of the performance was the issue, they should have cut out most of the show!

I think is it was fun for them to play it, but the quality was not good enough to release it, particularly on the DVD as that song really needs a lead singer to drive it. As I remember from Dublin and Belfast, it was a little messy as it ended up sang by everybody.

I got the same impression with I Want It All sung by Brian, it was so much better with Paul! Back to UP, it was good fun, great to enjoy live in the venue, but not for an official DVD release.

Perhaps it will be on the 2nd disc as a bonus track...

Both complete.

And based on those two albums we have to wait for another twenty years after the actual concert, for the second release of that QPR show...

It's nice to have something to look forward to. ;)

They DO NOT need Bowie's permission to release the song. It's (in a sense) a "cover" and ANYBODY can release a cover as long as the proper royalties are paid. Unless they changed the lyrics around (in which case all songwriters in question need to approve of) they'd have no legal worries concerning it.

"Under Pressure" has been released MANY times on various Queen product over the years including the recent "On fire at the Bowl" cd/dvd. The idea that they suddenly don't want to pay their friend Bowie royalties is ridiculous.

Clearly the issue revolves around either the "the performance wasn't very good" or it was "just for that crowd."
