....I feel the need to finally add my tuppence worth. I hope this reads a little more coherently than BPP's nonsense, so here goes. I'm not the monster fan than many on this board are. Sure I have all the albums, bootlegs, an autograph here and there, singles galore, but I'm by no means a super-fan. However, I never got to see Queen live, by virtue of a missed lift to Dublin. But I have to say, I jumped at the chance to catch this tour. I have seen Brian on the BTTL tour a couple of times, but this was just too good to miss. I understand the nay-sayers on this board. It's not Queen, it's an evolution of the band under the circumstances of fate and times past. But I think we have to look past the comparisons with what has gone before. I got tickets to see The Who in the early nineties, but I fell very ill on the day of the gig and missed it. So I'll never see the mighty thunderfingers of the Ox play. And Moonie died in the Seventies. But if Townsehend and Daltrey came to Belfast, I'd be the first in the queue. It's not The Who. But it's the singer and songwriter playing legendary tunes. And I'd pay to see that. The same way I paid (ok,ok, we got cheaper tickets, but the principle's there!!) to see Queen. And the guy who sings their vocals now. We got front-row. We got to hear the most distinctive guitar in pop history. We got to see one of the best drummers alive. I got to see that their fanbase is fresh, young and loving the music. We got to see that the music is still very much alive. And we got to see a great live performance. Doubtless someone will say that I should have posted in the Q+PR board. I don't care. BPP and a couple of others may throw slings and arrows of outrageous abuse at this. I don't care. Oh and next time he starts a topic along the lines of "Q+PR is shite", just don't reply. I had a great time. I'd go again. Cheers Paul

totally agree with you "ok.computer" if they come to argentina, it will be the last chance to see queen live john and freddie arent there, but we can see the best guitarrist in the world (IMHO) and roger taylor, who is one of the best drummers in the world

I am not necessarily a huge Poodle fan... although I do think its funny when one of his comments...designed to rev everyone here up (especially the 12-15 yr old girls) ...gets everyone all fired up, and pissed, and man, if they ever saw that BPP on the street...they'd kick his balls off...etc..etc.. Listening to 90 pound, 9th grade girls talk tough is the shit!

Here's my Q+PR story: I went to the gig in Antwerp. I heard some great music, saw some great musicians at work, had a great time and then went back to my hotel. I went to the gig in Arnhem. I heard some great music, saw some great musicians at work, had a great time and then went back home.

It's up to us really. If we're going to answer to people like Mike Hunt or BPP- the overal feeling on the board will be a negative one. But we can ignore them and have threads like this- it's our choice. I recently made mine, I rememebr when this board was a bit nicer place (always a lot of bitching, but... more intelligent :) ) and... I want it the same way again... I agree that shootingstar's post was a very nice one, brought something really new- same here. With the same intention I opened a thread about best 2005 gigs- we can either talk about that (bootlegs, stories, etc) or have pointless arguments with few people that share one braincell... And IMO thread like this should get more replies, even stuff like "Yep, i agree, great post" as it will encourage more ppl to write their thoughts and give a sign that a bit of positivity is also needed and present here...

The way I see it is that anyone who hates this tour, should hate cover bands. Queen For A Day and The Miracle are two Queen cover bands. How dare they, right? Queen is done, they should respect that and not play. Right? No, there is nothing wrong with a cover band. Than, by that logic, what in the hell is wrong with a coverband that has Brian May and Roger Taylor in it? This is why all the naysayers of the tour need to jump off a tall building. Great post by the way.
