I also forgot The Cranberries.

Even though he wasn't born in Ireland, I think Conan O'Brien deserves a mention of honor. I remember once watching Conan visiting Ireland on his show, and he said this when he came across one of the locals:

"Hi, my name is Conan. I'm looking for a relative of mine, his last name is O'Brien, he has red hair, freckles, and he loves to drink."

Mine's a rather short list, in that there aren't any names on it.

Ireland's rather a pretty colony in places, but we should have shipped the natives off long ago.

John is right, Arlene, you should write a thread about Scots. I hear they have over 1000 different swear words, that should appeal to you :-)
fatty wrote a book about that.
