According to Greg Brooks, Queen definitely played 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk' at this gig (21.11.77). Can anyone confirm? Does a recording of the show exist?

Looks like it was played 11/11/77 in Portland. I second your request for a recording.

Yes, but as you might see Martin doesn't have the audio recording of this show (or he hides it... :)), so maybe this tape still wasn't leaked out. I don't know. Now it's time for our traders and experts...

A recording, if there is any (if they even played it in the first place, Mr Brooks!), is definately not around.

So does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any way someone can challenge Greg on his information? I've never come across anything (other than rumour) that suggests they did play it. Maybe I could ask Jacky Smith at the fan club to email one of the band to see if they remember.. And thanks for the replies, guys.

Challenge Greg?? LOL! Believe me, lots of people tried. Btw: the question has been with the band before. They do NOT remember playing SOTS live! Which could mean 1.)They are so old now they completely lost it or 2.)Greg Brooks is talking 'from there' again. Think I'll go for nr 2...

Actually, this is listed in the setlist of one of their stateside shows found in an old fan club magazine. I've seen it online somewhere and I will try to locate it.

Well, not to diminish the article here, but just a thought: There has been a review of the NJ show this weekend, stating that they played A Winter's Tale! :-)

I can recall going through the old microfilm in the college library one day looking up old Queen concert reviews and one of them said they played a song called Hot Space. Um...OK. They butchered another song title and for the life of me, I can't remember. I am convinced that half of these critics don't even attend the shows they review.

They could have played See What A Fool... or even bloody WWRY and they wrote "Sleeping..."- in Classic Rock the guy reviewing Brixton wrote about Anotehr One Bites The Dust... When exactly he heard that- god only knows... So the press info I'd treat with a pinch of salt...
