I am a big muse fan. Im 20 years old:

What or who is muse you ask?:

Muse are an English band
Muse was founded in a boring English village called Teignmouth, they were the last of some broken bands, and founded a group together
They were in bands since their 12th
Matts dad (George Bellamy) was the guitarist of the band "The Tornadoes". They had a n°1 hit named "Telstar" in 1962.
Matt was born when his dad was about 36 years old.
Before Showbiz, Muse has recorded 2 limited EP's, Called "the Muse EP" and "the muscle museum EP"
Matt learnt to play the guitar by himself, and he thinks that's the best way to learn.
Space Dementia was recorded in two separate parts then put together
There's a secret tracks on Hullabaloo: "What's he building in there" by T Waits. You can get it by rewinding the first track (dead star) of CD2.
In a Simpson episode, Homer goes to a festival called: "Hullabalooza". The episode is called Homerpalooza, season 7, episode 24, first aired in 1996
Matt destroyed the very first site of Muse while he was trying to learn html (website-computer-language)
Matt wanted to tatoo the veins on his arms. But his mother wished that he would stay the way he was made, and respected that and did not tatoo it.
None of the muse band are originally from Devon.
Matt writes all the songs.
Matt played the piano before he played the guitar.
Feeling good is an old song by Nina Simone, jazz.
Muse are the best rock band in the world.(next to Queen)

I've always said that, one day, in about twenty to thirty years, Muse will be thought of in a similar vein to Queen. And I think Muse fans understand Queen better than most purely becuase of the theatrics and thoughfulness and sheer showmanship that Queen had/have, and can kinda "see that" in Muse too, and just understand it I guess. It's nice though, to hear fans of another band talk about our boys in such high regard and with such respect. Puts a different perspective on things, especially when you're on the "inside" like us.

Back to Muse... fucking class act. Falling Down, Sunburn, Uno, Hyper Music, Micro Cuts, Yes Please, Stockholm Syndrome.... where to stop? Unintended is by far one of the greatest songs of it's kind ever heard, it just reeks of emotion. And live? Man, if you haven't got the Hullubaloo DVD GET IT NOW.

I could seriously talk about Muse all day.

Little known fact, in school, someone said Matt was crap and dared him to learn a piece of classical music on the guitar, Mozart I think, so Matt went away and learned it during his lunch break, and then, just to show off, played it backwards. Legend.

My girlfriend once asked me if I personally think there will ever be a band better than Queen.

I said, probably not but Muse might be. It will take a hell of a lot to reach the status Queen has gained, but those dudes look very promising.

Absolution is by far one of the best albums I own. From concept, to the artistic design, to the way the songs play into each other, the overall message... it's just a great album. I cannot complain once about Muse. A class band.

They've got a lot of time for the fans, they've got a site like this where they share bootlegs, and Tom Kirk (from Muse's management) is always in friendly contact with the site updating them on news and any award ceremonies, public appearances, concerts, where they are etc etc, and he lets them know when they've posted something they shouldnt - I think it's great. He just wants to keep sites like that open, and be positive about it all, not like "I'm a big record executive, do what I say or we'll shut you down".

The thing I love about it Muse is, normally, if I've got a headache or I'm stressed, normally I'll listen to something soothing, John Legend or something acoustic like the Foo's for example, but doesn't matter how hevay the track, I can sit down and lose myself in Muse too. It's weird.

God bless Muse.

Welcome Andrew!

Glad to see we have another Musefan on here!
I'm a fan since late 2001 (Bliss-era). Seen them live once, in november 2003(Absolution Tour). it was fookin' amazing!!

A great thing about them is also the amount of b-sides they release on the singles, about 2 or 3 per single, which is amazing. And the songs are worthy to be on the albums most of the time. Like: The Groove, Fury, Eternally Missed, Shrinking Universe, Spiral Static, Host and many more.

I'm active on the following Muse sites: muse.mu, microcuts.net and muselive.com. Must-see and hear Muse-concerts:

These can be found on www.muselive.com
Glastonbury(2004)
Pinkpop(2004)
Earls Court(2004 audio)<<one of their greatest concerts
Live 8(2005)
Leeds University (2001 MTV Broadcast)

Absolutely and without a shadow of a doubt the best band at Live 8 in Paris.
They just put everyone else to shame. Those guys truly kick ass on stage.

I can't wait to see them live.

Agreed. And they're another band I found thanks to Queen! I'd be so musically pathetic if I'd never discovered Queen...Someone remind me to buy Showbiz. ;)

Resistance is futile. You are now an orb.

Check eBay or amazon for used copies - they'll probably be the cheapest places you can get them.
