So what? Or do you think "brian, roger n john" wrote this song in 1992 about Di? This song is about all who's died young.

If Bernie Taupin could write lyrics about Marylin Monroe - a woman he didn't know personally - eleven years after she died, why couldn't Brian May write about his friend six years after he lost him? He could have felt too sad in '92 or '93 to be able to write about that you know... reportedly he started composing the song in '94, but it took a lot of time until he finished it.

John hated HS. Fred's fave singer was not PR. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

I don't think trying to be logical will work on this one.

I suggest either agreeing or ignoring her.

It was written for Princess Diana BUT it was written in a way that could be referring to other people (anyone else) as well. It was generic as to who...you know kind of like an innuendo in terms of who perhaps. I think of it more for Freddie for sure though as I don't realy care to much about royalty people. It was first released on a compilation of various artists but then was released on the Queen compilation in 1997 called "Queen Rocks" and then as single that year promoting that release. Then in 1999 it was included on the "Greatest Hits III" where it so properly deserved to be.

Taking the risk of upsetting the lot who dislike the use of quotes, I must add what Dr Wig has said:

"I really wrote it about Freddie, but as you deal with a song, of course, it expands in it's meaning, I suppose, and we've lost a lot of people too young, recently, you know with Princess Diana and very sad to hear about Michael Hutchence the other day. So it's something which is in your mind a lot." - ITV, November '97

"It was written as a sort of tribute to Freddie and before long I became aware I was trying to make it sound very Queen-like. There are some musical and verbal quotes in there and I thought, if it’s going to sound like Queen, maybe it ought to be Queen. I sent the track to Roger and he loved it and said we had to do it." - Guitarist Magazine, July 1998

"I wrote the track for my solo album which I'm working on at the moment and erm, it just happened that, erm, Roger and John really liked it and kind of felt that it aught to be a Queen track - and it was about Freddie really so it, it sort of begged the question." - BBC2, January 9th 1998

Yep and when you say "He could have felt too sad in '92 or '93 to be able to write about that you know"
I totally agree, Brian, Roger and John had a very hard time dealing with Freddies death you wouldnt expect them to write a song striaght after hes gone, too much i would say, yes this song is dedicated to all the good people that had died so young and Diana died 1997 so Queen and not just them but the whole world missed her dearly, thats a powerful sad song...

This is not the "English Police" here, but, do you mean - "ment" as in "meant", or "ment" as in "mended"?

It really doesn't take longer than a few minutes to run your mail through a spell or grammer checker.

I have no problem with Becky..., or yourself (Hard life) making a point, (that is what freedom of expression is all about), but it is a lot easier if you can make yourself understood by all, and frankly some of the gibberish written on this board is "b yund cmp re hns-son".

Why not correct poor spelling? It prevents understanding.

As does your inability to punctuate, or even think straight.

OK, BLBM+RT, to remove the confusion: Billy Joel had a hit song called 'Only The Good Die Young' in the '80s. Due to copyright laws, Brian had to wait a certain amount of years before being allowed to release a song with a similar title.

Through a legal loophole, by inserting a similar title in parentheses, artists can avoid this law and not wait as long to release said track.

Not sure if you can read words without spaces between them, or if you're just pulling our legs, but I'll explain thisbetterifyouneedbetterexplaininSTOP.
