Great King Rat (Trident 73 - Brian outtakes)
Nevermore (instrumental piano outtake)
March Of The Black Queen (various backing track outtakes)
Funny How Love Is (various backing track outtakes)
Jealousy (backing track outtake with extra verse)
Put Out The Fire (outtake)
It's A Hard Life (outtake)

(And some bits and pieces of few seconds in between; a.o. Long Away, All Dead, Leaving Home Ain't easy, You and I... but these where merely there because Greg constantly, and very annoyingly, was skipping the disc hin and forth in search for particular tracks - can't the guy write down a tracklist and save himself from embarressement?? ;-)

Hmmm... not realy.

None of the songs are significantly different to the well known versions. But it is nice to hear some studio chat and hear the boys fuck up from time to time and have another go :-)

Hard Life has mainly lalalala-lyrics
Great King Rat has quite some unheard guitar parts
Put out the fire has some extra percussion and maracca's
Nevermore is instrumental piano and bass only
Hearing the boys do the backing track to MOTBQ (bass, drums and piano - live, like Bo Rhap) is not different but I surely found it fascinating!

Anything particularly interesting? Should be the extra verse in Jealousy, I guess. It realy is a bit different. The main structure and melody of the extra verse is the same as the other ones we all know, though it starts off with a different bridge of approximately two bars...

No, not anymore:) When the most interesting part of an outtake is supposed to be Freddie saying "fuck it", even my Stepfordism is exhausted. I have a feeling that we already have all the interesting material and the longer it takes to release an anthology, the less people are interested. I think the last chance was wasted with the ANATO 30 yr edition which does not give us anything new. Even the most faithful fans come to a point when they have had it.

Well, there might be more unheard songs. It's just that Brooks/QP decided not to play them anymore in public because of all the bootleggers.

I would not put much faith in anything Greg Brooks says.

As far as I remember the 2009 date was just a joke from Jim Beach when Mr. Scully asked him when the box sets will be out. He posted about that here on the board. I have no idea why GB repeated this on QOL. It was clearly a joke.

He apparently said that as well at UK convention... But no, I'm not holding my breath :)

There will be at least another 6 re-releases of the Queen back catalogue before we see a box set!! :-)

Also when they do release a box set I hope a little more effort is put into it than this box set:

Right! They should include a DVD that DOES fit inside the package!

Before or after you "customize" the exterior of the box with those nifty stickers? Can't decide if I should put them on the box or on my skateboard.

The Hollywood VIP tour was so pathetic it was laughable. The most interesting bit was the array of salad dressings displayed on the craft services table, and of course, the "tour guide's" Ralph Kramden-style "hamana hamana" explanation of why we wouldn't be seeing the things outlined in the letter from the lovely Mark Weiss of Artist Arena. I gotta hand it to the guy, he's got steel ones. He stood there and looked us in the eye as if he and Artist Arena had nothing for which they should be ashamed. Whatever they're paying him, it ain't enough! Quote of the day: "But you're going to see a really great show!"

That "box set" will become a real collectible ;)

(sorry, off topic)

I hope the Dutch Convention was fun. Hi YV and Tom!

Hello Cindy. Drifting away from the original topic is true Queenzone style.

I have to say I really feel bad for you US fans who have to buy overpriced useless stuff only to have a chance to get a front row seat. It's not only an outrageous rip off, it's also very un-Rock'n Roll.

And yes, the convention was fun. And the pre-convention and after-convention:) Mostly the after convention - where are my aspirins?
