Taken from BrianMay.com :

Some very sad news.

Japanese singer, Minoko Honda [real name Minako Kudo], has died, aged 38, in a Tokyo hospital earlier today (Sunday) from acute myelocytic leukemia, a condition which was diagnosed in January this year.

Minoko released her first pop record in 1985 and her hits included "One Way Generation".

In 1986 Brian May wrote, produced and played guitar on both tracks of Minako's single: "Golden Days" / "Crazy Nights".

In 1992 she was cast as Kim in Miss Saigon, and later went on to star in Fiddler On the Roof and The King And I, amongst other roles.

Read a profile of Minako Honda.

Yes, when I heard that news today, I shed tears a little. She had amazing voice and was expected to do more fantastic works. I'd never seen any of her musical stages, though.
May her soul rest in peace...

It was pointed out to me by Jen that it was kind of ironic that while she did die of leukemia, Brian's Bone Marrow charity cause probably could have helped her, though also at the same time, it probably wouldn't've been able to help cure the kind of leukemia that she did have.
