I bought the 30th Anniversary SACD of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" on Saturday this weekend, for $9.99 CDN at FutureShop.

I thought it was an *excellent* album, and I couldn't believe how good it sounded on the CD portion!
(Makes me badly want to get an SACD player just to hear the 5.1 DSD remix!)

Dave Gilmour's vocals were very much young sounding back then, although I think we all agree his voice got better over time. Roger Waters' lyrics are very well-done, and we don't have the themes of war and missing fathers that was ever so present on his later works, both with Pink Floyd and as a solo artist.
The sound effects done back then were amazing to hear, especially the coins and cash register "samples" on Money, which were literally cut and spliced.
Only the best from PF!

If only they would get off their asses and make another tour, then pigs would fly again :D

What do you guys think about this album? :)

The first time I listened to it I thought it was too psychadelic and too overated. Now I really understand why so many people consider it a masterpiece.

A classic. What more can be said. Perhaps the best side two ever. Must be listened to in a darkened room with a bit of mind 'enhancements'.

However, I am getting really tired of watching the 'Wizard of Oz'.

For all of you kids wondering if your parents ever smoked pot, but you're afraid to ask:

Go to the attic, basement, or whatever place in your house where your parents keep stuff they haven't used for over 20 years. If you find a 'Dark Side Of The Moon' vinyl, you can be rest assured that your folks enjoyed some long nights hittin' the sky with their ol' buddies.
