I have never heard anything more full of shit in my life than 'The Darkness' being compared to Queen(and Def Leppard). It's nice that they like these bands, it shows good taste. But as far as I'm concerned, they suck ass! The vocalist of this band should only be compared with Freddie in discussions stating the two extremes of good vs. bad vocals.

Any of you who think they sound similar to Queen need to open their freaking ears.

I think they dont sound like Queen but they sorta steal there image, with the spandex and stuff, but the darkness isn't a really Crappy band I sorta like 'Love Is Only A Feeling'- But thats only my opinion,
Thanks

I don`t think the Darkness are simillar to Queen!
I don`t know were people find any simillarities between the two groups, i mean not even the vocalist sounds like Freddie.

But i`m not saying they suck, i just think they don`t sound anything like Queen (to have several guitars and doing falsetos isn`t enough to sound like our boys!)

Take care

You know, the darkness is an allright band but they need to learn the lesson Queen learned early on, you need more than just one good song.

I like The Darkness. I don't know why this same topic of The Darkness vs. Queen needs to be discussed four thousand times, though.

I like the Darkness.
But I would never compare them to Queen, you're right, that would be very inaccurate.

I reiterate from a rant on a previous thread:

Thankfully, the Darkness only had 2 singles here in North America and then disappeared...not so coincidentally the only 2 songs on their first album not packed with senseless profanity and shite lyrics.

Everyone said they sounded like Queen, but I thought they sounded like Tiny Tim on LSD. When I saw the singer in their first video, I thought to myself "This guy looks a donkey's ass with teeth sticking out! How is it he's gotten this far in life without being euthanized out of kindness, or at least being sewn up into a burlap sack and hidden in a bell tower somewhere?"

Thank you, God bless you, sweet dreams you lot of tarts, Good-bye!

You have a good point but if you remember, some of Queen's tapes were pretty wierd and Freddie had buck teeth.

Yes, but it was genius work, weird as it was. It was original at the time. And while Freddie was toothy, he had an exotic beauty about him, and panache when it came to grooming and clothing - this Darkness idiot is just a sweaty stringy-haired dirtbag. When you heard the odd profanity in Queen music, it was placed properly, with the cheek and wit one would expect. The Darkness hurls profanity constantly, needlessly, and worse, unconvincingly, like they're rambling off a grocery list. I was more moved and convinced by Terrance and Philip's rendition of "Shut Your Fucking Face, Uncle Fucker" in the South Park movie than I was listening to the Darkness' shite.
