I love the entire album. If I had to pick one song, though, I guess I'd choose Jesus of Suburbia.

'American Idiot' is one of those very few albums which have not one single bad song.

I wish there were more bands who realized that a good album should have no fillers. Even The Beatles had fillers.

Personally, to me, there are very few albums in existence that are mostly without fillers. Two I can name off the top of my head are Appetite For Destruction and Cracked Rear View - unsurprisingly two of my favorite albums of all time. But, in my opinion, one band that was able to consistently produce such albums was Led Zeppelin. I'd say Queen, but I'm not sure if that's just my biased acquired taste for their entire library from listening to them so much. What do you guys think?

Wake Me Up When September Ends. Stunning song.

Great songcraft, great melody, lyrics, musicianship, orchestration, arrangement, meaning.

Yep, Cracked Rear View I can honestly say I never have to hit the skip button until the album's done. And I HAVE to listen to it all the way through, that's a given.

Agree. I only have a few CDs where I don't skip any songs. For me:

1. Innuendo - Queen
2. Tattoo You - The Rolling Stones
3. Some Girls - The Rolling Stones
4. Presence - Led Zeppelin
5. Born In The USA - Bruce Springsteen

But, in my opinion, one band that was able to consistently produce such albums was Led Zeppelin.

I would say that's true only 'cos they usually put 8 or 9 tracks on each album, with the exception of "Physical Graffiti." When bands start putting 15-16 tracks on albums, in most cases, there's gonna be some filler tracks. IMO, Led Zeppelin's weakest album is "Physical Graffiti" just for the fact that it has too much filler. They'd been better off to have released it as a single LP with 9 or 10 tracks rather than a double LP.

This is one of my favorite albums, so it's hard to pick just a few songs that are great...I agree with it having no fillers, which isn't always the case with mos albums.

1. Holiday
2. Are We The Waiting
3. Jesus Of Suburbia
4. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams (even though it got so incredibly overplayed that I can't even listen to it anymore!)

Everytime a Hootie & The Blowfish song comes on the radio, I immediatly change the station.
