Yeah, yeah, Munchsack in the Serious Discussion forum, doesn't happen much, but this is what I consider to be serious.

I think that it is a little unfair that the Americans (no offense to you guys, by the way) get this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000000OBJ/qid=1135278155/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-6736253-1338213?v=glance&s=music&n=507846
and our Queen II doesn't have 'See What A Fool I've Been' on it. I mean, three of the four Queen members are British. None are American. If they get this, I think we should, too, without having to pay import fees. I mean, I would pay it if I didn't already have the regular version.

This can't end well.

If you read my post, you'll see I am not having a go at the Americans, I am just wondering why and stating that I think it is unfair.

this version was out in 1991, when Queen signed with Hollywood Records.
All the albums got something - up to The Miracle.

You could buy them here in Europe - damn, I bought all mine in Belgium.

Yeah, why should they get all the juicy extras when they are a British band? They should have to pay to import it.

Probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard.... We Americans can't help it because Queen's American representation chose to give us extras. The reason is because Hollywood Records is an American label and they are the ones who included the extras. Perhaps, you should talk to Queen's British label. Reminds me of seeing children fuss at the store when one sibling gets a little more than the other.

uh, didn't Lester already cover this?

Fact is, American Music distribution far exceeds anything the Brits could ever do. Plus our "re-mastering" process is like Rocket Science compared to what they have.

But, no offense to you British people. More Americans buy music anyways.

I allways thought about that too! Why they put extras on the American CD`s and not in Europe it`s a mystery to me. (I know it`s a different label, but why EMI europe never thought about that?)

Take care

As an American, I cannot tell you why this is the way it is, it should be equal on both sides of the pond if you will. However, some of the extras on some of these things are not that good, like some of the remixes and stuff IMO. However i don enjoy See what a Fool I've been, yet, in my neck of the woods in the US however, its nearly impossible for me to find Queen CD's/Albums. Its easy to find ANATO, i lucked out on ADATR and QII, but i had to order others online.
So i wish they would make more albums and what not available.
And they dont have memorobilia (sp?) here either, the poster i have my aunt had to buy off of Ebay... so i think its kind of an unfair toss up...

This is the most stupid thread I have ever read.

The US has manufactured a different set of CDs because that country is (correctly deemed) as a different territorial market.

As the world is divided into different territorial markets, each can manufacture their own unique rarites. (You can see this in action with different regional DVD codings).

Many rarities are available in Japan only. (For example: both karaoke discs spring to mind, as well as the 3" CD singles collection).

Europe too has many unique mixes and formats available for that territory only. (For example Italian coloured vinyls, and Dutch or German CD singles).

South America, South Africa and even Australia have all seen unique versions of the 'Live Killers' LP - just to name a few of their rarites.

BUT, by far the MOST rarities come from the UK. Unique CD singles with UK only releases and UK only remixes. Unique picture discs and coloured vinyls - and let's not forget, the most collectable item of all - 'Rhapsody in Blue', is a uniquely British experience.

I think that such newbies need to do a little more research before expressing such unreasoned arguments in public.

PS: I have left the former USSR territories open for Serry to discuss!

I think it is crap that we Americans get the extras. But then, we're stuck with some of the bonus remixes (ex: Dragon Attack, WWRY, Flash's Theme, etc). I do, however, like the '91 remix of TYMD and Somebody To Love.

We had nothing special here. Except "Jealousy" single with awful artwork, titles written by Russian spelling of English words. Most of the differences of Queen USSR releases to other European releases were because of lyrics. "Wrong" lyrics could corrupt our youth :)

In the 90s in Ukraine all Queen albums up to AKOM were re-released on cassettes and contained extras, which weren't on UK or USA CD rereleases (like those extended versions of AKOM, FWBF etc.).

I bought 4 Queen albums whilst in the States between 1993-1998 (ANATO, NOTW, Flash Gordon, Made In Heaven) and got Queen At The BBC on import.

Just one of those things....

Good point...
And i would not have thought of such a point. But trust me, some of the remixes on these discs from America arent very good. But i do agree with a previous poster (forgot which) that i do like the '91 remixes of TYMD and STL.

I already said I would if i didn't already have the regular album. It seems pointless to pay all that money for one track.

Heh... How many thousands I've spent on releases because of one track only? Only God knows...
