Try vinyl if you haven't already.
For those of you who are asking yourselves "What's vinyl?" and then preparing to search for its definition on google so you don't have to look and/or feel stupid on this forum, allow me to save you some time and energy, you poor, unfortunate souls you.
Vinyl are records. Records are played on turntables. Turntables, or better known as RECORD PLAYERS, are what produces the sound and music of a record. Capice? Alrighty, now to my point.
If you are a ponderous, interpretive Queen fan who loves the music more than anything else, or if you just really like Queen without the interpretive bullshit and you have only heard or own CD's, then vinyl is something to try out.
Buy or borrow a Queen record and play it.
The sound, as with anything else, is amazing.
The thing with CD's is that they are superficial. Sure, they are "digitally enhanced" or "digitally remastered" for quality sound and listening, but you don't get the whole sense of real listening with CD's as you do with vinyl.
CD's are plastic discs that spin around, being read by a lazer.
Vinyl turns slowly while a needle picks up every groove on the record, giving you nothing but the best of sound. So do it. Do it now. I demand you.
A great album to get is Sheer Heart Attack for vinyl. Mmm...cardiac arrest. How sexy it sounds on a record player.

If you try it and happen to not like it, you're still my bitch because, yeah. I said so.
Cheers

Take it from this aging dinosaur. CD's and MP3's, digital music may sound squeaky polished, but...you have NOT experienced the minute intricacies in sound and aural experience, depth, and warmth that Vinyl STILL has..and many a musician will tell you so as well.

Digital just can NOT beat the sound of vinyl and recording software like ProTools can NOT beat the sound of analog.

I know.
That is what I actually said in my post, and yes...I agree with you.
I recall a time without internet and all that fun stuff...
...and some kids can't even remember a time where they didn't have all that technology.
And yet...I come online here to talk about modern technology. Sad. How old are you by the way?
Cheers

I remember listening to vinyl records in my youth as well... I still have piles of Queen, Prince and The Police records somewhere.

But now that I've gotten as old as 25 years, I've come to appreciate how easy the cds are to listen to compared to vinyls, and how little there is difference in their sounds with my cheap equipment.

I haven't even plugged in my turntable (or whatever you call them) for the past two years. :/

Damn right.
With so many teenies on here, I feel somewhat old myself. Well, maybe that's because I AM older, but still. If there's anything that's more pathetic than conversing with young ones on online message boards about a band, I have yet to hear it, heh.

I remember listening to vinyl when I was a kid in the late 80's.

I also remember it sucking.

I also remember playing many vinyl recordings when I was a kid and I think I prefer CDs, though I have many vinyl stuff from classical to heavy.
Good there can be both for every different taste.
I'm glad that the vinyl is still alive anyway.
And it isThanks to you all:)

Well dear, i am a teenie, and i feel to old for my own generation...
im not up on anything new because i listen to GREAT ROCK MUSIC (Queen, Beatles etc) all the time. I dont follow any trends, unless you count the fact that im obsessed with 60's/70's rock music and culture. I have an old soul or so im told. And besides, i wish i was older... I dont like my own generation. Everything is hip-hop now. And its not pathetic you're chating with us about this. I love to hear all opinions. I wish i could have been around then, i think i was in a former life and died in a house fire.

I wish i could have experienced it myself.

And i got a few vinyls of ANATO and ADATR for christmas. But i dont have a working turntable. Ill have to track one down! Ive been dying to listen to them in all their glory!

When I was a teenager, I felt the same way. I was a teenager in the early eighties; a time where I loved Queen when they were still live, and yet, I felt like I should have been born about twenty years prior; the time my parents were born, and even before that. But it's good that you have an "old soul", but don't forget that there are things in the present day that are just as priceless and/or jems. Don't forget that.

result to beatles/queen from 8 year old "that shit is from the 80's give me some elvis presley damnit" 13 (in a couple of days anyway) year old queen/beatles and nintendo historian(me)'s response to result: "you know elvis started out in the 50's, the beatles came from 1962(and queen from 71) dumbass!"

no new coke was readily availible

response to nes game. "thhhhhhhhis neeeeedsss better grrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapppppppppppppppppphhicssssss"
