This is my first remix. Hope you like it. It`s basicly the odd track with the backing track more evident.
All in all quite nice.

cheers

Martin

It`s actually under the topic "second try".
As it was my first remix posted here I managed it in the second try

sorry for the confusion

Why is the vocal in the left speaker?

Not much of a remix. Just a few scattered sounds for difference and some drums in the right side that go out of time (delayed/nudged along, I'm guessing).

Where are the Fickle like individuals out there?

Peace,
Adam.

Thanks for your comment Adam. It was my first "remix" so ì`m trying out a lot of things. Still learning Darling.
The vocals are right in place when I`m listening to it in 5.1.

Fair enough since it's your first attempt. But it's not really a remix.

Anyway, what do you mean listening in 5.1? You never told us that it needs to be listened to in upmixed 5.1.

*listens on other machine*

Hmm... the overall surround is nicer - but after a quick a/b of the original track and your "remix" shows that this was always there.
And the lead vocal is still in the left speaker, no-matter what upmix mode I used. This must mean that you have a system different to the norm or improperly setup.

Peace,
Adam.

I get the 'left speaker' effect as well and it all sounds out of sync from the middle towards the end, but I haven't got 5.1 facilities on my PC, so may be judging unfairly. Usually, when I mix from a 5.1 source, I downmix it to 2 channel stereo, as that, in itself, often creates a 'different' sound.

Alright, I admit that`s not a remix in the traditional sense of meaning but I found it interesting to play around with effects that are usally not audible in the basic track.
It`s true that the drums are a bit out of sync from middle on - don`t know why this happend.
I have a 5.1 system connected to my PC and I have the audio on all channels. Sorry for you guys...

I the end I would like to pay respect to Lord Fickle and Adam. Their remixes are awesome (Fickl`s "A Winter`s Tale" and Adams "Mother Love" are brilliant). Everytime they upload things I enjoy listening to their stuff. Great Guys

Good to know that you like doing this stuff. Keep at it because you've started on something and may get continually better and further. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Btw, I have a professional 5.1 listening system, so I know if something's up. That's why I mentioned it, even after listening on both the PC and my 5.1 system. So, all I can say is that your setup can't be correct for the lead vocal to come from the center speaker. This is why studios have standards, e.g. if it works on the studio setup, it's guaranteed to work everywhere else.

However, I have a thought... Did you mix a 5.1 project and then fold down to stereo? If so, please provide details and let's see what can be done to fix this.

Peace,
Adam.

Thanks for encouragement Adam.
I try my best to explain what I`ve done in correct english.
Basicly I mixed the original single version of "Magic" and an alternative instrumental version together. In the end it was a normal two channel mix and even on 5.1 the vocals are evident in the center speaker. I used "Goldwave" to create that mix. I´m just listening to it again and vocals are audible on all speakers. It wasn`t planned to be a special sorround sound version. Don`t know what happended...

cheers
