If you look up the word innovative, there should be a picture of Jimi there.

He forever changed how an electric guitar is played.

While respecting others' opinions, I loathe Hendrix. Terrible voice. Uninteresting songwriting. Great guitar playing. If his vocal melodies were as interesting as the double-stop guitar riffs he created, he would've been fabulous.

Two greatest guitarists in my mind are Page and May. Hendrix doesn't even approach them. And I now await the barrage of posts telling me how rediculous this is.......

What a ridiculous thread.

I honestly think Jimi Hendrix had more of an impact that Brian May. I won't comment on who's better because I honestly can't choose for myself. Jimi had this incredible feel with all that blues stuff he played, Brian May had a heck of a way with making stuff sound classical almost.
And let it be known, that Brian May wasn't the first person to do guitar overdubs the way he did - pick up the Jimi Hendrix band of gypsys DVD and you'll see what I mean.

Honestly, I don't see any point in saying 'BRAIN MAY IS BETTER COZ HE LOOKS BETTER LOL' like that simpleton a few posts above mine did... can't you argue on something a little more valuable than his looks?
