Queen
The Undertones
Franz Ferdinand
The Clash
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
The Jam
Pink Floyd
The Only Ones
Bob Marley & The Wailers
The Boomtown Rats

Yes, 3 Irish punk bands in my top ten. My dad was the third punk in Stornoway. Maybe some day I'll get bored enough to tell you the whole story.

This can't end well.

7 The Undertones

Good choice, they're a very good band.

I know Paul McCloone who sings with them now. He did a Michael Caine impression for me! He's a cool guy.

After John Peel died, I got my dad The Undertones debut album for his birthday, which he hadn't heard for years. That was how I got into them. I now have all their albums (except Get What You Need).

Good story here. We were on our way to a Celtic game in the Champions League against AC Milan which ended in a goalless draw, but we had left early because Celtic had decided to try to stop people from turning up late for the game to have The Undertones play a 20-minute set just before the game, and give everyone a free cappuccino and a mince pie (because it was Decamber) if they got there before kick-off. But the traffic was really bad, so not only did we miss the gig and the free scran & swally (food and drink) but also the first 20 minutes or so of the match. But we managed to hear a little of the concert on the radio because the Sportsound guys stopped talking for a while so we could listen to it (not just us, I mean all their listeners.) I was amazed at how much McCloone sounded like Feargal Sharkey. No point to this story, really.

QQ: When was The Sin Of Pride made? Because I can't figure out if that is Sharkey or McCloon.
