My dad seems to think elvis is a more famous person worldwide and more popular, and i think michael jackson is becasue i seen some of the videos of stuff hes done and have you seen him in concert where they are all fainting and getting dragged out, i like the way they mob him in the street and just run down the road and follow him in his car

so who is more famous and popular out of the 2? and i dont want to know if your biased lol

Most famous? Everybody knows them both, so I would say a draw!

Most popular? Elvis, without a doubt.

Put it this way: if Elvis turned up tomorrow, you'd probably have half a million people turning up at Graceland hoping to catch a glimpse.

Conversely, if something major happened concerning Wacko Jacko - say, for argument's sake, he got caught kiddie fiddling and had to endure a drawn out court case - you'd be lucky if fifty placard waving weirdos turned up.

I don't even know how you could begin to compare Michael Jackson with Elvis. Elvis is iconic. Michael Jackson is...well, disturbing.

Plus, Elvis was an 8th degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate under Ed Parker. He would have kicked Jacko's ass.

See? It's Elvis. MJ will never have that many impersonators?

I had heard previously that MJ was a ninja but I can't confirm or deny that.

Elvis is a fabricated act just like members of N*SYNC or Backstreet Boys.
If you think about it the guy couldn't write his own music, hardly knew how to play the guitar, didn't have such a brilliant voice, and was overhyped by the media. The only part where the guy deserved props was that he was a good performer, but other than that he was totally overated.
The Beatles by far deserve to get the title of "Kings of Rock n' Roll", instead of Elvis.

Now back to Jacko, he started losing his 'King Of Pop' crown back when he first started calling himself 'The King Of Pop'. Since then, MJ's musical career has gone downhill and now has hit rock bottom.

I think Elvis is clearly the more famous of the two. MJ was great (in his prime) but, in my opinion, Elvis was phenomenal. I think he had the best stage presence and song delivery that popular music has ever seen. Long live the King....

No: Elvis was the first - and that makes the world of difference.

Besides everybody in those days, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby (who still holds the record for the most singles sold world-wide - ever) and Judy Garland all had others write their songs for them.

Infact it was kind of playing to their strengths. Just because someone like Elvis or Pavarotti are great singers - it does not mean they were any good as writers. Conversely, great song writers like Berni Taupin or John Deacon - cannot sing for sh*t.
