Well, the final four episodes of Arrested Development aired last night, climaxing with an epic half hour finale that tied up all the loose ends, thus ending one of the best shows on TV. Though the show has been rumored to be picked up by ABC or Showtime, nothing definitive has been said yet, and it's likely that the 53 episodes - every one of them a classic - will be all that will ever exist.

I'm not going to give anything away, because it was a great two hours, but all I can say is that, while I do feel emotionally empty, part of me doesn't want there to be a fourth season - everything was wrapped up so well, I can't see where they could possibly take the series now.

RIP Arrested Development, you beautiful bastard.

It's better to have a great original sitcom lasting for 2 seasons, than having a dumb cliche sitcom like 'Everybody Loves Raymond' lasting for 9 seasons.

Oh I agree, but the thing was that even a good episode of Arrested Development was better than any "excellent" episode from mediocre comedies. The writing on AD was so consistently brilliant that it could've gone on for at least three more seasons and still outshine everyone.

I am so sick and tired of the same old shit sitcoms with the blue collar husband, the hot milf wife, the annoying mother-in-law, and kids who are usually a slacker, a nerd, and a slutty daughter.

Making the death of AD all the more painful; the lowest common denominator has won.

I have yet to watch the final two hours, but I agree that every episode has been a classic. The last episode with Charlize Theron was a bit uneven, until the "Next Time on Arrested Development" bit.
