I've made one by myself, it's the first mix I've ever made. I hope you like it.

The idea is great only the contrast of the two(?) versions is too great.
It's not a bad attempt, but it's too obvious when you're switching between the versions.

But keep practising ;)

I can't believe this has been downloaded 92 times, with only one comment! Come on folks, this might not be perfect, but if people take the time to do these, you could at least say thanks.

As for the mix, well, technically, it's not brilliant, but the idea is a nice one. Unfortunately, the sound quality of each of the recordings is vastly different - I'd forgotten just how much hiss there is on the Wembley CDs. Maybe a rip of the DVD version might have been better? I've certainly heard worse mixes, and for a first attempt, credit to RT88 for being brave enough to post it on here. What you need to do, especially with live material, is use cross fading for the joins, rather than a straight cut, then it's not quite so jarring. This does take some practise, and even with the amount of times I have used it, I can still spend an hour getting one cross fade right!

Thanks for sharing, and I hope some more people leave some comments. :)

I've just seen you posted this in the Announce forum as well - that must be where all the downloads have come from, although they didn't seem all that impressed at having a Fan Mix posted - lol! ;)

That said, there are still a lot of people who download these mixes without commenting, which is very discourteous.

Pretty much what Daniel and Fickle said. Jarring edits make it too obvious and crossfades between the two, if possible, will help ease that. Also, I think that minute snaps of reverb between the recordings can also bridge gaps with the guitar bits.

I'm sure these two could be edited together fairly seamlessly. You'd just need to give the Wembley a bit of noise reduction and some more body to the overall sound. And with the ROTC version, you'd simply take out some of that extra body to better match the Wembley version.

I don't have ROTC, so I can't really try all this out. But I'm pretty confident of it.

Peace,
Adam.

Just wondering if it might be better to try Fred's part from the MK Bowl CD? Might be better sound quality - certainly less hiss, I think.
