Granted I live in Portland, ME about 2 hours from Worcester. However, we have 2 so called 'Classic Rock' stations that generally have pretty good reputations. How many ads have I heard for the show in Worcester? None. What the Fork!

Aerosmith comes around every 6 months or so. Motley Crue has been in the Maine-NH-MA area several times in the past year (I saw them last night actually!) The local stations have been promoting the crap out of both of these shows that you can see a couple of times per year. And they don't even need the promotion! Bands like that which tour all the time are their own promotion.

All of a sudden Queen comes for the first time in 23+ YEARS and the stations don't even mention it? Whose fault is this? Is it the tour manager/pr people's fault? Did they not realize they'd have to promote the show? Or is it the fault of the radio stations?

What does everyone else think????

I don't ever expect to hear any promotion for Queen ever again, so I'm not really surprised. Probably on the Queen Productions/Hollywood end as usual.

well, closer to the venue, they are promoting the worcester, MA show
WZLX 100.7 giving away tickets thru Thursday (to include FRONT ROW on THursday) you have to call in when you hear Paul / Queen back to back, and believe me, you cant get through when it happens
WAAF 107.3 will be giving away tickets to the WAAF Army members
it has been on WROR, and alot of others
It has been good to hear the promos, and they have been in the paper as well as the DCU center promoting them on their website
I think that this show will be a good one, considering the lack of promotion in the smaller venues
shame on the promoters
regardless, i will be there friday night screaming my head off, rocking away as well as Sunday night in Uniondale, NY

PR -- as in paid ads -- cost money. That means more overhead. If they can get 81% in Duluth, GA, with no PR, there's no way they'd do it up here in the Northeast.

This is an organic, low-overhead, just outside the major markets tour. Jim Beach should get his penis bronzed after this tour when they start counting the profits.
