They played a severly edited ROTC last night after the Monty Python special. It was amusing to hear about the "loads of extras" on the DVD.
Prices: $75 gets you a CD, $100 a DVD, and $375 gets you The Crown Jewels, apparently the most over-pressed boxed set in music.

Equally amusing was (1) the female host telling us why she thought Freddie Mercury was so great and (2) about the "guitar player" whom she called "the guitar player" five times. Even Paul refers to him by name several times throughout, but she must have missed that.

Interestingly enough, they edited it so much that no mention of Freddie (either singing BR or being talked about or put on the big screen) made the broadcast.

How'd you love those lovely edits, too?

The song's not even over and *BAM!* Paul's singing the first line to We Will Rock You or Another One Bites The Dust!!!

So.. er... you bought the $100 DVD, right? I got two, just in case! LOL

I am old enough to remember FREE and BAD COMPANY, so I rather enjoyed hearing the old familiar hits with Brian and Roger playing along to Paul Rodgers vocals.

I Loved Freddie and was lucky enough to see him live in concert with Queen several times when the band toured the States.

I would give anything to to have Freddie back with us, but unfortunately he is not. I thought Paul and the Queen members were especially respectful to acknowledging Freddie's memory and Paul did not try to be anything other than himself while singing the Queen material.

We will always have our CDs and DVDs of the original Band with Freddie.

I can't see what is gained by expecting Brian and Roger to abandon the music they made famous. I saw the concert and was surprised by how enjoyable it was.

I realize the younger fans may not agree. From the historical perspective of having followed Queen for over 30 years, I understand that things will change. I wish Freddie could have remained alive and 27 years old forever.
