Old topic I started but I have another question about it. Here is the topic:

http://www.queenzone.com/queen/forum/topic_view.asp?Q_FORUM_ID=10&Q_FORUM_NAME=Queen+%2D++General+Discussion&Q_FORUM_TOPIC_ID=515424&TOPIC_SUBJECT=2%2E53+guitar+question+on+IWBTLY+on+MIH

My question is, what is this section that I like called? I hear some of you geeetar gurus call some sections stuff like the middle 8 or 16 or whatever. Does this section that I like have a general name? It's the tapping part that I like so well.

Thanks!

Ello Lis, Ive always just called it tapping, I dont know if its called anything else! Its relitively easy as well. Like I read in your last post, It sounds a lot more impressive than it actually is. Joe Satriani is good at it, hence Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet using it too.

You can't really get any different answers that what you got in the other post Lisser.

Strictly the 'middle 8' of this song, (in this case the middle 16) precedes the guitar solo, starting with "I wanna love you..." and ending with "Every single day, day...". You then get the solo section, which lasts for 12 bars, and the last 4 of these bars contain the bit you love.

These 4 bars contain 3 guitar elements/tracks. Two elements are the twin guitars that play a two-handed tapping part in harmony, whilst the 3rd element appears right at the end of this section and features a largish ascending then descending arpeggio that initially sounds like one guitar, playing in an almost sweep-picking like style, but on closer inspection sounds more like a multitude of guitars playing one note at a time in sequence.

These 4 bars that you love can't really be named anything other than a technically proficient, beautifully constructed and arranged guitar interlude.
