Does anyone else think that The Loser In The End sounds a lot like Son & Daughter?

Once you have answered, you can mention another pair of sings that sound similar.

This can't end well.

The Loser In The End...Queen couldn't sound more like the Who if they tried.

Oh wow.
I see what you mean. Not just the music, but Roger Taylor's vocals parallel much to Roger Daltrey's. Strange.
Cheers

No, no. Other QUEEN songs, not other bands.

The whole Works album has strong flavor of a selfcopying.

There's one riff in Stone Cold Crazy identical to one in Great King Rat.

Compare the melodies of Rockyou and Dragon Attack: "buddy you're a boy make a big noise" with "take me to the room where the red's all red" (or however it is).

Flamenco cadences (or variants) were used several times in Fred's tracks, sometimes only in the bass though: Vagabond Outcast, Liar, Great King Rat...

Ogre Battle and GKR's structure (similar way to introduce the bridge and develop it sustaining the chords).

Abrupt arrangement simplification in the middle (or beginning) of a track featuring piano vamping during two measures: My Fairy King, Millionaire Waltz, Bo Rhap, Death On Two Legs.

Almost identical synth-string part during The Miracle (after "the one thing" part) and Was It All Worth It ("we love you madly").

Spread Your Wings and Seven Days couldn't be more similar when it comes to musical structure and harmony. Lyrics share some tricks as well imo.

Lap Of The Gods and Bo Rhap share a one-measure descending bass lick.

The string break in Don't Try So Hard is similar to the "no no no no no no no" in Bo Rhap in the sense that it starts in B, ends in Bb, and has got a similar motion (down-up-down).

I'm In Love With My Car shares several things with Drowse.

Innuendo's bridge is in 3/4 like the one in Bicycle Race.

And so on.....

John hated HS. Fred's fave singer was not PR. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

Intro to Tie Your Mother Down, and White Man (although likely intentional, as an album intro?)

There's a whole bunch of stuff in 'More Of That Jazz' that really sounds like the rest of the 'Jazz' album...(and the extended IWTBF has....)

The beginning of 'Brighton Rock' and the end of 'Seven Seas of Rhye' from Queen II.

And 'Seven Seas' sounds a lot like some track from the first album. The title escapes me at the moment......

Hey, I liked The Who/ Loser In The End comment. Had never given that a thought before.

I mean, honestly. I know that Brian and Roger have cited The Who as a major influence, but damn. Cover band, much?

Good Times Are Now (Roger Taylor solo song from Fun In Space album 1981) and Coming Soon.

Same tempo, same guitar riff in the middle.

I think it's on the songs that already was thought up during The Game-sessions. I mean, those 2 songs have many similiaraties.

But Queen didn't used the song for their album, so Roger probably finished the song himself for his first solo album. Just like Magic Is Loose for example.
