The sword fights look especially lame after we've all seen the lightsaber fights on the Star Wars prequels.

However, I have to say that I always found particularly touching how McLeod had to live as an immortal and see his wife get old and die.
That scene where 'Who Wants To Live Forever' is played almost got me into tears, especially after watching the scene where McLeod is on his wife's deathbed and he promises that he will always light up a candle on her birthday.
Then when I watched the video for 'Who Wants To Live Forever' I found it very meaningful to see hundreds of candles. Before then, I thought they were only there to make the video look "prettier".

Wow, I never caught onto that. Somebody has to watch Highlander again. I'll put it on my to do list. That's actually pretty cool.

I love the first movie. The sequels and tv show suck though. I can't believe that they are going to make another 2 movies.....

Well...considering the two sequels were already a disaster, maybe another two movies is a good thing...some redeeming value, perhaps?

I must confess, even as a youngen, I watched the T.V. series, however, it wasn't terrible...

We watched the movie recently on the bus at 6 in the morining. We were heading to a fencing tournament, so the coach felt it proper. Everyone was asleep except the coach and I, but they'd wake to the occasional screams, thus the confusion. It was pretty funny though, good memories...

Apparently it is going to be a new trilogy:

This new adventure to be, starring Adrian Paul is the first feature in the Trilogy. The Source will tell the story of Immortals as they quest to locate the Holy Grail of their world. The entire series of films will chronicle the origins of the Immortals.

Director Brett Leonard commented "This is a tremendous opportunity for a storyteller of this genre to take part in the mythology of 20 years." He continues that "Highlander is an amazing ongoing story that I can bring my visual style to... Everything I have done has led me to this kind of mythical fantasy."

When the definitive list of stupid questions asked on this site is compiled, I think this could squeeze into the top 20.

Warm congratulations.
