To Queen fans,
I wonder about which songs they will be doing on America Idol. Here are my predictions for the 8 songs:

Bohemian Rhapsody
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Who Wants to Live Forever
We Are the Champions
Under Pressure
Another One Bites the Dust
The Show Must Go On
I Want To Break Free

"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" will be the easiest one to do. "Another One Bites the Dust", with that second verse will be very hard for anyone to do well.

In other words, the SAME OLD EIGHT SONGS.
Why can't Americans get into different Queen tunes?!

HE ROCKS US STILL.

Well, which ones would you like to see? I would really like to see "Somebody to Love", "Play the Game" and "Don't Stop Me Now". I don't want to see "Fat Bottomed Girls", "We Will Rock you",
Stone Cold Crazy" or "Tie Your Mother Down" Those are all kind of lame excuses for a singer, since they are not really technically hard.

I have listened to Queen's music since I was 5 yrs. old (now turning 31) and I am excited the biggest show in America will be exposing Queen in any form... Queen should be held in the high regard we hold other groups or singers from the best era of music ever to exist. No one has ever reached the vocal versitility that Freddie possessed. And in my lifetime I don't think I will ever see anyone enchant a crowd as he did. Even if everyone blows... most will... at least the KIDS who watch will say mommy what music is that? What kind of music is Queen? Isn't that worth the pains of listening for an hour to ok music?

I hope I didn't offend anyone,

R.I.P. -> Freddie... cause who really wants to live forever?

At first I wasn't so sure about this Queen night, but now I'm pretty excited to watch it tonight! Yay...I guess the usual songs will be just as good, but it would've been cool if the contestants listened to more Queen and chosen a song to sing that they'd prefer...A song that wasn't really a hit..Hm.

Funny, they're doing Innuendo tonight. So what's all this anti-American crap? It's the Americans that are putting then on TV, not the British.

With all due respect...
You brits can't sell records, anyway... and most of you on here illegally download/share.
Countries that sell more albums than the UK? United States, Japan, China, Germany, Russia, South Africa.... I mean the list goes on.
Go USA.

(Why didn't the UK put them on over there? Because American TV reaches millions more people than British TV)

Double Go USA.
Double Go Queen
Double Go Paul Rodgers
Triple Go Paula Abdul (in her day)

Simon totally dissed the Innuendo. Said it wasn't a good song, which was why they probably never performed it live. Randy agreed. Those know nothing, no talents. Really what have any of them done. Oh yeah, Simon discovered 5ive and Randy played bass for Journey for a minute or two. Yeah they're icons in music.

That pissed the fuck out of me...I'm sorry but what a dumbass....

Other than that...if I HAD to say who was good I think it was the guy who sang Innuendo and the last girl who did The Show Must Go On...they both had the best voices....the rest was just...S***

You could tell that Roger and Brian weren't really into it...i thought that was funny...lol

Cheers

I don't post that often, but this one has sparked my interest...

Freddie is a one off... there aren't too many people like him. He was unique and he had a special craft. No one looked like him and no one sounded like him. He was special and could sing like no one else.

What is wrong with someone being able to do a Queen song the way Queen performed the song? Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

After watching "American Idol" last night, I came to the realization that most people can't sing very well. And to cover the fact that they can't sing (Queen songs), they change the melody. FORGET making the song "your own". Just get through the song and don't butcher it!

IF SOMEONE COULD SING A QUEEN SONG FOR ONE MINUTE THE WAY FREDDIE SANG IT, THEN THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING. That in itself would be a big task and a very impressive feat to accomplish. People talk about making a song "your own". I say, "Get through the damn song without making me cring." Once you can do that, then make the changes.

AND -- Don't make the changes in front of Brian and Roger. They'll eat you up.

I also thought Roger and Brian came off as being rough and jerky. It seemed as if they didn't want to be there and they couldn't be bothered. However, no one ever tells the "American Idol" contestants the truth - that sometimes they really suck. Brian and Roger were refreshing in this way, as they didn't blow smoke up anyone's arse... They just told the truth... and if you didn't like it, then you should have sung the song better!

That's all I have to say.

Cheers!

To use an example: It's no way that guy could've sung Innuendo, per se, if he didn't change the key. Freddie took those songs from the lastalbums and sent them oput of sight.

INNUENDO They just lowered it one whole key. I thought he hit every note. And did a splended job.

Did you notice that pitch in most all the songs were corrected?

Kelly RAISED her key from Bflat to Cminor. It was OK. Should've bombed.

Elliot chickened out on the last note, who wouldn't???

Taylor WAS drunk.

Ace got scoreboarded. And telling Roger to put some energy in it? See ya, schmuck!

Finally, Randy Jackson did a lot more than tour with Journey in 1987. He's written more songs than Freddie.

I think we should give Kelly Pickler her credit... Everyone in the WORLD except her thought she would bomb and I really think of everyone last night she not only stood out but represented Freddie's legacy the best out of all eight.

And Elliot couldn't wouldn't make that last note and if he tried it would of been goodbye..

I hate admiting this but Simon was right about Chris doing something special. America does not know Queen for anything except the "Great Queen Hits" and Chris did a song that at least over here on this side of the pond isn't known very well. We Will Rock You or even Under Pressure where the American public would reconize it through the Vanilla Ice reference. I really think this is between Chris and Kelly Pickler and it showed last night during the hardest music to emulate.
