Great Great Show! I loved every single minute of it! I think it was a successful event at the rose garden, as it was about 95% full or so...

The Great and Good:

Roger Taylor (He was the best and got the most applause in my opinion, I'm In Love With My Car was at its best last night)

Under Pressure - More people stood up and cheered for this one than We Are The Champions! Great song and I loved how Brian May introduced it and kinda bad mouthed Vanilla Ice for stealing it haha!

Dragon Attack - Not too big into this song until I heard it last night! It was great!

Bohemian Rhapsody - two words. Freddie rocked!

All in all no mistakes by the band as far as I could tell cause I was having a huge blast.

A couple of dissappointments:

Days Of Our Lives - Heard a couple people a few rows up from me call this song shit. I couldnt believe my ears, those people have no taste in music and should be shot. The Song was great though.

Radio Ga Ga - No mistakes by the band, but not enought audience participation

Love of My life - like Ga Ga, not too much participation when it was being sung, but Brian did a great job anyways...

But besides the not so great audience partcipation for a couple of songs, it was a flawless performance and was a great show!

I also bought a program for 15 bucks, well worth it I think!

Roger: Can I go To Lunch Now?

Brian: No, You Can't...

---------------------------------------

Freddie: Oh Shit, All this crap again?!

Hey hey!
I agree, I just got back from the concert (I had to drive a while to get home), and I'm still in shock. What a dead crowd eh? I was the only one standing up most of the time, and there was a old couple in front of me molesting each other.. *sigh*

The good:
I've never heard Paul's voice before, I thought he did an AMAZING job, and I'm so glad that Bri and Rog chose him.

Under Pressure: Bri did the freakig high part in the second verse!!! Plus he burned Vanilla Ice which was hilarious.

Dragon Attack: I wasn't expecting that one! What a delightful surprise! Paul was excellent on this one.

Boh Rap: I concur, Freddie rocked. I wasn't expecting it, and so I started screaming like a little school girl. :-P

The Bad:
Fucking dead audience. It was embarrassing. I was waiting for Freddie to pop up on the screen and shout: "Move it ya fuckers!" lol.
I am almost certain Paul forgot some lines in like 2 songs. Doesn't matter tho, it was still wonderful.

No jackets!! And not enough sizes of shirts. Soo sad. :'(

I concur with what has been said so far. It was nice to see the place nearly packed, but to me it was sided towards Paul Rodgers fans, which probably explains the lack of knowledge and participation with some Queen songs.

Random notes and observations:

I don't have a whole lot of concerts under my belt, but this one flat out rocked. Say what you want about Paul, but he looks a whole lot more comfortable, and they are gelling quite a bit.

Roger still kicks ass on drums, plain and simple. Plays 3/4 of a 2 hour show and does it better than most people half his age.

Speaking of Roger, he stopped into his drum solo and slapped on a mexican hat, then started again with Jamie, Danny, Spike, and the stage hands coming out in the same type of hats and doing a very poor mariachi dance LOL.

How bout Jamie Moses doing the high parts along with Brian and Roger on Under Pressure. To me this version is even better than some of the Freddie live versions I've heard (I can hear people shouting "blasphemy!" as I type this LOL)

Brian changed to a Red Special clone for Fat Bottomed Girls and promptly broke a string halfway through and had to improvise the solo and the rest of the song with the other 5 strings. Did not look real happy. It was a lighter browninsh color than the Red Special and the Burns replicas, so I'm not sure what particular guitar that was.

Dragon Attack was awesome. Done very close to the album version and fit Pauls voice very well. A great addition and is much better than I Want It All to me anyway.

Unfortunetly, I ended up in the last row on the floor, so my pictures that I took mostly came out blurry. I went through and picked out the decent ones and edited them and have posted them at http://www.sendelbach.us/queen I tried to cheat and move up to the center close to the catwalk one the lights dimmed, but I only got through half of Fat Bottomed Girls before the seat owners showed up. So the rest of the pics are from my "way back there" spot.

It was kind of a crappy seat for what I paid for it, but all in all I am very glad I went.

The show was amazing.
I was surprised and even amazed at how well all of them sounded (singing wise). I even enjoyed the Bad Co./Free songs.
The show took my breath away (not to use a lyrical pun), but it's true; every moment kept me alive and wanting more. These guys are amazing.

Best moments:
Under Pressure
BoRhap
We Are The Champions
Love Of My Life (it was so poignant)

I'm glad there are Queenzoners who attended the Portland show. :)
Cheers

Also:
I wish they would have played '39. It's a Bri song anywho, so why not? Oh yes, I know, the dead audience would have probably have gone to sleep. *sigh*
Wasn't the light show just fantastic??? Oh my gosh, I got my breath taken away (lol) during "The Show Must Go On" at the chorus.

The show must go on, *BAM BAM* *BLINDING FLASH!!!*

Sooo cool.

I totally loved it when Bri broke his string and had to improv. Very smooth, I think. Question: Doesn't Rog look funny when they put him up on the big screen and he has the look of sheer concentration? He also does something funky w/ his mouth.. counting perhaps?

I would have loved it if they played '39, though, by the looks of the overwhelming tweeny population, whose collection of Queen consists of the greatest Hits Volume One and a copy of Waynes World, I don't think any of them would have known the song, or cared for it.

Yes, the lights were awesome. I was in awe during The Show Must Go On; it was spectactular. They still know how to put on a good show, don't they? And I must say that Paul did a fantastic job considering the odds on this website being against him. Ahh well, I had a wonderful time.

I'm glad all you did, too.
Cheers

I loved it. This was only the second concert I've ever been to. the first one was Paul McCartney back in November. I had better seats this time. Floor row 11 seat one compared to section 219 row J seat 7. I tried taking pictures on my cell phone and none of them came out that good. I noticed a lot of people were trying to take pics on their phones.

Under Pressure was truly a shock. And it was funny about what brian said about Vanilla Ice.

I think I was the only one in my section that even knew the hand clapping parts to Ga Ga and the drum solo. Or even the words to Love of My Life. The couple who sat next to me didn't act like they were excited at all until the end.

I could hear people around me saying that when Freddie popped up during Bo Rhap and Days of Our Lives saying that he was missed. That was nice to hear.

When Roger threw the drum sticks into the audience, I ended up catching one of them. I consider it my birthday present as my birthday is on Monday the 17th. So that was really nice.

Sounds like you guys had a great time! Sorry the crowd was so sleepy though. The show in Vegas a few nights before that was pretty rocking by comparison from what I've read.

The guy sitting next to me, and a few people sitting behind us, were complaining that we were standing thru much of the show. I don't get it to be honest. I've waited my whole life to see Queen rock live, and I wanted to get up and have a good time. I almost told them "look, this isn't church. This is a rock concert. I payed $130 bucks to see the greatest rock band on planet Earth, and I'm going to have a good time. If you want to sit down, watch them play, and politely clap, get the damned DVD".

Why do people go to rock concerts and just stand there? I'll never understand.

Anyhow, we're all part of thre great fraternity of people that have seen Queen live. Let's hope that they swing thru the states again. I can't wait to see them a second time!!!

/cheers everybody!

William
