Has anyone had any dealings with this guy. Is this the 4 part SVCD converted to DVD? I am obsessed with tracking down a good PAL quality version of this concert.

Don't know the guy, but the better he is, the more inclined he will be to provide screenshots.

You could also ask if it's a @Silver Stallion@ production - if he says yes, then it's watchable, but not quite the best ever.

Indeed. Ask for screens. If he can't give you any, don't buy it.

I am not aware of this Silver Stallion version. I have a YV version or something like that. Is it similar? My version although watchable looks grainy, like its been converted to film. There is no proper video sync to it. We all know the concert was shot in video format.

I can't get my PC to read my copy, so can't provide screenshots. Can you (or YV) provide yours?

I think the Silver Stallion is reasonably well sync-ed, but has still images from Queen's career randomly inserted between songs. I'd say it was about 3rd generation VHS.

I have various versions, 2 different VCD version on 2CDs each, one SVCD on 4 CDS and one DVD. I know that the VCDs which were shared on QZ circulate as a DVD but I don't think (hope) this is sold on ebay. From the screen shot I would assume it's not better than most other EC DVDs.

And PG - it's to good to see you are your own self again. The other name was so un-typical:)

I tried to get paintshop pro to snap a screenshot but alas no luck. It captures everything else except the mpeg video. The YV version is simply a 2 part VCD that appeared on Queenzone. I have had other incarnations of this concert including a horrible NTSC video and what looked like a 10th VHS source generation PAL DVD. The YV encoding is the best yet I have seen of the show.

You need in VirtualDub program. Or try to play the file not in WMP and then screenshot it.

I have added 15 pics to my queenzone account but am still waiting for them to be validated. Did I do this wrong? If it is validated what procedure do I use to display the pics to others on the forum? I downloaded VirtualDub as you suggested Serry and pasted the image to psp croping what I wanted.

I just discovered that i also had YV's VCD version (thanks again, Barb, you do a huge amount of good work on videos which largely goes unappreciated), so have reviewed it against the DVD copy I got at the convention. There is no guarantee that trancer's DVD is the same as "mine", which as stated previously, is a "Silver Stallion" production....

YV's version is much darker, but has smoother lines and no inserted pictures.

SS's version is lighter but much blockier (in the style of that 70s porn VHS that you deny having - a multi-generational copy)

My guess is probably because the SS version has been converted to the horrible NTSC (Never the same colour) format. YV's video is PAL sourced. I added uploaded some screenshots of this video to Queenzone a few days ago but still no word on whether they have been approved. How do you post pictures here?

Guru

By any chance does that other DVD look like this. This is the Pandora video version.

It was very good of YV to upload a torrent for the 2 part VCD since the picture quality is superior. I love this concert. I just wish someone would put the 4 part SVCD on Rapidshare.

As far as Im aware the Pandora version IS the Silver Stallion version.
If you watch it to the very end some Japanese writing appears with 'A Silver Stallion Production' or something like that.

Conclusion is that 2 part VCD and 4 part SVCDs are superior than the DVDs found on ebay.

It is? Based on what? I prefer the DVD - I can see more of the concert!

Judging from those Pandora screenshots the VCD is better quality. I have got a few DVDs of ebay of this concert and none of them have matched the quality of the vcds. The only thing I have issues with concerning the vcds are the "film look" generated on the image. I am not sure if this took place during the VHS to mpeg encoding or if this is a result of a multi-generated VHS tape.

Fair enough...I just think the VCD is so dark - like it was underexposed.

There are two VCDs, PG - the lighter coloured version was shared on QZ.
