"The legend that became Queen – John Deacon, Brian May, Roger Taylor and the late Freddie Mercury – have accounted for record sales in excess of 150 million across the world since the release of their first album, Queen, in 1973. To date they have released 21 albums, all of which have been certified gold or platinum in virtually every country"

Queen, for the few out there who haven't heard of it, is one of the most successful bands in the history of rock and roll. So far, they have sold 300 million records worldwide and were pioneers in the music video industry with their 1975 song "Bohemian Rhapsody." According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "BohRap" was Britain's most popular single and the BBC confirms it's the tenth most famous song in the world. They were precursors of heavy metal, glam rock, progressive rock and "arena" rock. Their influence has arguably inspired musical artists like My Chemical Romance, The Flaming Lips, Nirvana, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Travis, Molotov, Spice Girls and Five.

HANG ON! Queen inspired the Spice Girls?????

...Which means about 300 million if you include The DVD sales and Videos.I don't work for EMI or anything but they had shifted 50 million albums by 1981 and 90 million by 1991.After that,it just exploded...which means another 100 million since. They were also on the highest Royalty rate of any band.Brian may worth only £75 million-I think not!!Freddie's estate was valued at £8.5 million in 1992 allegedly-His earnings were vastly higher-he certainly enjoyed spending huge amounts of money!

I believe the Beatles is one of, if not the highest for royalties. Of course Michael Jackson happens to be getting all of that money, but that's a different story.

It would be a different story, if it was in fact correct, Freddie_Jr.

MJ owns the publishing rights to most of The Beatles back catalogue. If an original Beatles recording is played on the radio or sold, he doesn't get a penny.

Sir Paul Mcartney recieved around 20 million (euro?) last year in Beatles/solo royalties, so it's not only MJ that recieves royalties
