now here's my story...i first bought vhs tape of this show..it was my first concert of queen..i enjoyed it..and still smth with my video player was wrong and the sound was very week..i had forgotten that show before i watched it on youtube today...IT IS SOOO AMAZING...they were in such a top form..so powerfull and energetic..freddie's voice and everything...it sends shivers to me and blows wembley show away i think!!!! even tavaszi szel! when i was in hungary some people told me about the bustle that was in budapest in 1986..i feel proud to be a queen fan!!!!

Fantastic opening, but Freddie's voice is going by the end!

He stays stronger at Wembley, but some of the performances are better in Budapest.

The Budapest show was amazing as my friends said, my mother was there as well :)I have the video, I looooove Freddie's accent (the tavaszi szél song you know), it's so cute.

budapest is better than wembley for all the "delicate" songs i.e

bo rap (especially)
we are the champs (especially)
love of my life
and the other slow one!

bo rap at wembley (the intro to the opera bit) sounds very lame compared to budapest. Freddie is on fire in budapest. The same on we are the champions, on the versus, Freddie sings them so much better, as if his voice was softer or something. Anyway those 2 songs blow wembley away.

But the wembley songs are better like the harder one such as tie your mother down etc.

I much prefer Budapest. Fred's voice is almost like it was in '82 at times and the guitar sound is much heavier too, which makes it a bona fide rock concert rather than the pop/rock of Wembley. Freddie is also very high energy whereas he look tired at Wembley at times. All in all Budapest saw Queen turning back the clock a bit, it's similar to one of their turn of the decade concerts.

Is Budapest an official release? If so, what is it called? Any ideas on where I can get a copy? Thanks.

This makes me sad. I remember my sister bought me a video cd of this concert in 1997 and my brother ruined it! The cd doesn't play anymore.

Queen is the greatest rock band in the whole universe! Freddie Mercury will always be in my heart! I love him very much!

the film is sped-up, so the concert is a semi-tone higher, which makes it sound faster (-> on fire?!)

I've watched "One Vision" as well as Freddie's vocal improvision. I do have the July 13th, 1986 Wembley Stadium performance on CD. It's awesome.

Yeah, it's contrast to Wembley '86 is a lot of the reason I don't like Wembley '86. My main reason always has been that Budapest was the same tour and stood out as far superior.

Is that true? How interesting, it's certainly very effective.

yes, it's sped-up by 4.2%, I read here:

http://forums.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?p=741089&sid=4a131066a7ba2c6ae4d3b7eadfff7054

and here's some more:

http://forums.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=23284&highlight=&sid=998769dacf16e9ed17f0e9b1972b682b

it has to do with the frame-rate, just to tell in one word.

I can't, but Michael Demtschyna can:

If you convert film to PAL, this might happen. Not only for Queen Concerts ;)
