I'm having an off day and it is bugging me...

What is the song of peace that Brian talks about before Love of My Life? He says they weren't playing it that night.

I think he was refering more to Life Is Real which WAS played in the US and rehearsed for the UK shows - Brian even makes a mention of people that gave their life for something they believe in (ir words to that effect).

Trust me it's Las Palabras he was talking about the war, (can't rememeber if all his speech is included in the DVD) but that's what he was talking about and Las Palabras had gained new meaning after we began sending troops over there.

"I'd just like to dedicate this next one - this is a little unusual - but seeing as we're not playing our song of peace tonight, I'd like to say, I'd like to dedicate this a, particular song to all those people who are not like us and sitting here and having a good time, listening to music, but.. but, no matter where they come from, people who have given up there lives for what they believe."

Can't it be Put Out The Fire instead of Life Is Real? That one's more about peace imo.

John hated HS. Fred's fave singer was not PR. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

I agree that it's probably "Put Out the Fire," since that one was done all the way through during other shows of this same tour. (See the Japan clip on Disc 2)

Indeed you might be right here, I may have assumed incorrectly it was Las Palabras, however I remember not long after Brian being interviewed where he talked about the track and the war in the same breath, and how it had taken on new meaning since the start of the war.

However as you say , Put out the fire would make a better 'Peace song' as such, but I seem to have in my head that it was originally inspired by the Lennon death, and was part of the tribute along with Life is real.

This came up before and I still think it has to be either PotF or LiR.
Just the way he seems to imply that they DO or HAVE played it, but are not playing it "tonight".

I would think it would be LiR since Brian gave a intro once saying how meaningful a song it is. It was something to the effect of how they play lots of nonsense, but every once-in-a-while they have a song that means something.

...and now you have my 2 cents!
