Some kids at my (now former, luckily) school were passing around an e-mail on Myspace about a possible protest against our superintendent. It said that during graduation when she got up to give a speech, they should all stand up and turn their backs on her.

Now, apparently the school board found out (not sure if through a mole or if they are wiretapping Myspace, lol), and, okay, they called a FORTY MINUTE ASSEMBLY to tell people not to be in the protest.
And if they did they would "NOT GRADUATE FROM [school]... EVER!!!" And the superintendent cried and went "these accusations are absolutely... UNTRUE!" I kept expecting her to go "I am not a crook" or "I did not have sex with that woman..."

Now, how pointless was that for a protest that like 4 people probably heard about? And then it turns out these 2 kids found about it from the assembly and they did it. And they pulled them out of the graduation line.

My school was lame.

At my school, you didn't even get your diploma on grad night. I had to go up there the week after to pick it up.

Woooooo! Fight the system!! Stick it to the man!

Alls I know is that my grad ceremony went off without a hitch. Maybe it was because half the damn class were freakin NHS members.

Anyone get any fancy awards at graduation? I took home a perfect attendance award for senior year, a robotics club appreciation award since I was the only member from my senior class, above average PSSA math section (would have had the same for english, but I wrote 'screw Flanders' at the bottom of each essay, oh well lol).

I wish I could do high school again now that I know all the tricks.

I got an Art Award. But I wasn't voted "Most Artistic." My friends and others who aren't even my friends were really mad about that.

Ah - the tyranny of high schools has always been there over petty things. Back in the stone age over twenty years ago a few years after I graduated, our incompetent principal (a former typing instructor) made the front page on the Chicago Sun Times concerning a graduation ceremony over something so lame I forget what it was.

wanna know something more fucked up? i didnt get a diploma! tahts right, june 23rd was my graduation day and my school has once against screwed me sideways. 13 years wasted.

what happened was i 'graduated' in january (i had all my credits finished to i went to college early) so they ASSUMED i got it mailed to me in january. therse about 5 things wrong wit htaht picture. they didnt really do much to fix the problem it just comes down to the fact that theyre lazy fucks. supposedly im getting one in the mail but thats a scar that was left on me that they fucked me out of graduation. no matter, i never have to deal with them again, and im in college anyway.

the thing is too, there was another girl who did the same thing as me, and the same thing happened to her. so my school needs to be torched or something.

why pay the visit when the visit is free?

What was the actual reason to turn their back against her anyway?

Just another case of immaturity of students.

Because our superintendent is completely incompetent. We're $5 million dollars in debt when under our last superintendent we had a big surplus. And despite this she has used funds meant for education to buy herself new curtains for her office and to buy a paper-stapler. And if parents call her she gets back to them... never.

what bothers me is that we (america) have the money to go to war but we dont have money to provide our schools with. instead of a seven period day, we only have six. a referendum was passed tho, so we got our 7 periods, but my school still sucks. it has no windows cuz it was desingned by a guy who built a jail. im a prisoner for 3 more years, unfortunately

YOu didn't say this in the first post, so how a person to know.. for as I read it it WAS a immature reaction of the students.

I wasn't expecting you to know :) I meant to mention it but I forgot :)

But the thing is, that the government could give the schools all the money in the world, but if the people running the schools don't know how to use the money it goes up shit creek.

A few years ago, a previous superintendent turned up dead in New England. No joke. I guess some poeple just aren't cut out for running a school district.
