What confuses me is that during the gospel inspired part there seems to be some different vocals from Freddie than the ones on the album track.

Interesting. It wouldn't be the first time someone used alternate takes or new recordings for a mimed show, though.

according to Montserrat's biography, Freddie supposedly got cold feet... but that's her biographer's version.

It had nothing to do with Freddie's health, I'm sure of that. Anyway he looks fine here,a picture of health.

actually, it kind of did...his throat was bothering him again, thats why he couldnt sing

Actually, that is not correct. Freddie didn't sing live simply because he never intended to, Barcelona was never supposed to be sung live, it's too complicated for that.

Not so.
Barcelona would not have been a song Freddie could've gotten perfect on several dates of a long tour.
But when you listen to the 3 songs he did in '88 with Cliff Richard, his voice is in great form and he does get very high. I believe he could've done Barcelona great justice live, if it were a one-off show.
