Thanks for your comments! I think most of my mixes are still available in the two 'Fickle Archives' posts. There are one or two which are not included, because either they were not too well received, or I just went off them, but I think you should be able to find all the good stuff.
I did these mixes before I had heard any of yours, and I have to say, some of the similarities are remarkable, but I think this is to be expected, as, in some cases, it seems obvious as to how a mix will go, and there is only a limited amount of freely available material to work with. Yes, I do like to keep the essence of the song intact, and try to enhance it, rather than change things beyond recognition, which is why I tend to shy away from some of the 'dance' mixes people have made, particularly of Freddie's solo material.
At the moment, there is a bit of a dry well as far as inspiration, and 'new' material goes. I have used the 5.1 mixes from ANATO and The Game in some of my mixes, and have also tried out some other tracks, IILWMC included, but at the time, whatever I tried seems like a rehash of another mix, and I couldn't find much to get excited about. I did put out Death On Two Legs, which received a mixed reaction, but I didn't feel it was one of my better efforts, so rather than continuing to produce mixes just for the sake of it, I have decided to wait until a new 5.1 DVD-A or DVD comes along, which will hopefully renew my enthusiasm.
Finally, for this post anyway, have you got the technology and the patience to attempt your own 5.1 remixes of the other albums?
No, I don't have the software for that sort of thing, and to try anything like that without the master tapes would be unsuccessful, in my opinion. I don't really have the patience to remix a whole album in one go. I would probably get bored before I reached the end, and subsequently start taking short cuts just to finish it.
