Hi to all!

I have a question about something I read in The Royal Legend site.

In the section about Queen I tour, in the 10/20 entry it talks about a BBC recording of the concert and a later broadcast as a In Concert Special.

Can anyone give me more info about this concert? In Queenconcerts that concert don't have any addicional info and if it was broadcast there should be some recordings around, or at least should exist in the BBC archives.

Sorry for my poor english. I hope you understand.

Best regards.

Olá, amigo! Seu inglês é muito bom, não se preocupe :)

Queenland, a very good site by Brazilian Collector Henrique Seligman, lists this concert as fake:

"Either 20/11/73 Oxford or 27/11/73 Birmingham (saw both with 20/10 date)"

Yes it's there... They have 4 tracks SBD. All circulating recordings are fake. I hope this one sees the light someday but don't get high hopes.

Oi, Arnaldo! Henrique is referring to (fake) audience recordings while Zodiak is talking about the BBC soundboard recording.

It was broadcasted only once, suposedly in 1973, although the known transciption LP to feature this material is from 1974. Its master was found in the BBC archives in the year 2001, and a couple of reference CDs were pressed by the BBC. The CD contains the following QUEEN tracks:
01. Procession+Father To Son
02. Son & Daughter
03. Ogre Battle
04. Liar
Total time: 26:29

By the way, this thread does not belong to this section of the forum.

Are you sure it's not just another version of the Golders Green 73 show? There were multiple broadcasts of that one. I've got two versions with different opening speeches.

Unfortunately, it was indeed Golders Green (as I feared). I just received the promo. The original BBC sheet mistakenly describes this as being from The Paris Theatre (I guess the error has to do with the other stuff in the transcription disc being a Randy Newman concert from that theatre). I am NOT amused.

Yup. The only difference is about 2 seconds of the opening speech:

"They sound rather different to please you but you're going to enjoy them anyway I'm sure. Would you give a welcoming hand please to Queen."
