I busted out laughing when I read this, but it could work, he did have the duet with Slim Shady back in 01.

Mary J. Blige actually did sample Benny and the Jets for one of her songs back in 2000?

Mary J is a c*nt. She raped U2's "One".
I will never forgive her for that. -.-'
And the band for playing along...

It'll be...different. And I mean 'different' in the least positive sense imaginable. Elton John, from Soft-Pop to Hip-Hop in one easy step? Dear god, this is going to lose him some fans...

Yeah it will be. I remember seeing on TV where disco was the big craze back in the 70's...and everyone was doing a disco album, this is what that kinda reminds me of...I really hope he doesnt do the rap thing, I just cant picture him chilling with 50 cent, rapping with him...lol

I don't see the cause for umbrage with the word itself. A vagina is truly a beautiful thing.

I think Fairy King needs their head read for seeing 'cunt' as an insult, to be honest.

C'mon Burak
Mary J Bligue covering 'One' wasn't that bad.
It just made the song sound more soulful, that's all.

At least it wasn't nearly as bad as U2 turning into a techno and electronica band in the 90s.
I'd rather listen to Mary J Bligue singing 'One' a million times than listening 'Numb' again.

I happen to really like Elton John, but I absolutely hate rap and hip hop!! I won't even dignify them with the title of "music", because they aren't.
As interesting as this could be, I'm really don't understand why he's doing this. Why is he selling out? He's better than that!

It's not really selling out when you're as wealthy as Elton John is. Elton just seems like a really open and inquisitive sort of fellow, and it seems like he has a genuine interest in doing it. That is by no means "selling out," which is a term that is very abused and incorrectly attributed nowadays.

However, I will agree that I truly abhor hip hop.

If he has a geniune interest, more power to him. I just can't see any good coming from this. An upper middle aged, white British gay guy is not going to succeed doing hip hop....it's hard enough for white guys of our age bracket to do it. While spreading out into different genres is good, you should understand your limits. It's like the french language rap I heard while I was in France....that language is just not meant for rap. Ever. It sounds very silly, to say the least.
I just hope he doesn't take too big of a hit, fan base wise, for this.
