So i am considering making a grand purchass of the Brian May red Special, you all know what I am talking about.

I am lucky enough to have a 25% of gift certificate for the online store.

they dont ship oversees so i will have to have it shipped to a family member and then get them to ship it to me.

before i do it, my question is...is the one on the site realy the best? cause there are other on ebay and other places from differant attempts..is the new 2006 one the best there is?

I recently bought the 2006 model. It's excellent. But if you're looking at ALL the copies, then I'm sure some folk will say the Guild is the best.

But if you're looking at using this voucher, I have no problem in recommending this Brian May guitar to you. I've had it for a couple of weeks and it's got great sound, great play and looks nice!

You can find my thread on trying to figure between a Burns and a 2006 model in the serious forum.

Peace,
Adam.

The 2006 is argueably better than the Guild, however, these are both urpassed by the Guyton and Kz versions.

These two are about as close as one will find on the market anyway. However, they are terribly expensive. In relation to the Burns and Guild in terms of similarity to the original, the Burns and 2006 can't compare.

Unless you're willing to spend at least $4000, I would go with the 2006 model. That is the best you will do for it's price range.

what do you think it would have been like if this was the one tha brian had been playing for all these years.

to me it just doenst look very comfortable to hold/play

its deffinelty more unique but deffinetly less cool looking too me.

Hi Phill:

Jaime Sure Would got a Guyton a few months ago. I think you'll probably be in pretty good shape with the new Brian May version. Adam seems to like his.

Anyone seen these: www.rsguitars.com?

I was thinking of buying one from them...not that I have the money, but when I get the cash, I'd like to have a natural finished one made (like the John Birch copy).

Seriously. Just get a Burns or 2006 version. Cosmetic differences to the original aside, they're a damn fine instrument, treated properly they'll give you that 'sound' or at least a decent approximation.
