Hi,

Just noticed in the sleeve notes of the new Freddie CD that Roger Taylor and Peter Straker sing backing vox on The Great Pretender.

I don't doubt this, but I had never seen this mentioned before anywhere, and Roger's voice does not stand out as usual, and the vocals sound as if they may all be Freddie (as with his other solo releases).

Can anyone definiteively confirm that Roger does in fact sing backing vocals on the track, or have the compilers of the sleeve notes simply assumed that Roger and Peter Straker sing because they both appear in the video for this track?

Cheers

OIQFC spread that info for many years.

Sleeve of the new CD is pretty informative if you want to know the little details like who played drums on The Great Pretender for instance, on original TGP sleeve (on my 12" at least) there wasn't any info about it, so I guess there's some kind of truth behind that.

Or for instance from official Roger's site (which now is hidden in the depth of QOL): http://queen-fip.com/rt_site/c_back/cb_mid.htm

It's only Freddie on that track.
