That is incredible! I apologize for my hasty assumption that it must be 2 different songs. Thanks for uploading it.

I wish I knew. I have seen other examples of songs being credited to the wrong person. When Rod Stewart did "Have I Told You Lately" he swore it was written by Van Morrison, but the song is actually credited to someone else. That's a weak example but I have seen others. lol

Song is officially credited to Stanley Lucas (BMI Work #52224). Publishers are: RIGHTSONG MUSIC INC and TWENTY FOUR KARAT MUSIC. And there are over 60 tracks officially and legally credited to Lucas.

And there are only 4 songs credited to Barnwell Carl: Even As, For Malanie, Moses In The Sunshine, Sylvie

To shed SOME light on this:

It's a 1960s and '70s British folk-rock group, formed by singer Ia(i)n Matthews. Their recording of the song dates from 1976, and was recorded without this chap Matthews I mentioned. It was clearly credited incorrectly on the mentioned single, but seems to be credited CORRECTLY to 'Lucas' on commercial releases of the single.
