I got this in an email. Always useful information....pass it on and save lives!

Since many people are alone
When they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating
Improperly and who begins to
Feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left
Before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves
By coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough,
Deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum
From deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated
About every two seconds
Without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart
Is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs
And coughing movements squeeze
The heart and keep the blood circulating
The squeezing pressure on the heart
Also helps it regain normal rhythm.
In this way, heart attack victims
Can get to a hospital. Tell as many
Other people as possible about this.
It could save their lives! "

Unfortunately, I have it.

I've had heartburn before, so if I ever have a heart attack at least I'll know how it sort of feels...

I'm so pissed I could spit.

LOL! I doubt it hon. Heartburn is a burning from stomach acids.. though I haven't suffered one myself I can assure you that a myocardial infarction would feel nothing like heartburn.

You can have pains that are as bad, or feel like a heart attack though (according to doctors). There is one condition where fluid builds up around the heart which is said to be quite painful. Also you can have angina, which is kinda like mini heart attacks.. shortages of blood flow.

Anyway, here's another tip.. take an aspirin.. actually chew it if you can. This is one of the things they make you do in the hospital. Not for the pain, but to thin the blood.

I haven't had an attack but I've sure thought I was a few times and I've been through hell having tests...

If you have pain that lasts awhile or keeps coming back.. and especially shooting pains on your left side and in your arms, jaw, etc.. don't take chances. But also try to remain calm because anxiety = tightening up which leads to more pain if it's not an attack, so you'll keep thinking it's worse and worse.

Edit: I was still writing my post.. sorry about the aspirin thing ;)
