Just on music.yahoo.com, here's a couple of news bytes that stood out:
JUSTIN HAWKINS QUITS THE DARKNESS -
Justin Hawkins has quit the Darkness after admitting blowing over $300,000 on cocaine in the past three years.
The singer has been undergoing treatment in Britsh rehab clinic the Priory in recent months after being admitted with drug and alcohol problems earlier this year.
He has now revealed the extent of his drug
addiction and decided to leave the group after staying clean for over two months.
DAVID BOWIE JOINS SPONGEBOB -
David Bowie will be a guest on Nickelodeon's "Spongebob Squarepants," playing a character called Lord Royal Highness in a show that will air next year.
Bowie, 59, said his 6-year-old daughter, Alexandria Zahra, is a huge SpongeBob fan and they watch the show together. He wrote in his blog that he's "hit the Holy Grail of animation gigs".
"We, the family, are thrilled. Nothing else need happen this year, well, this week anyway," Bowie said.
GUNS' CONFIRM "CHINESE DEMOCRACY" -
The new Guns N' Roses album will be released next month, it has been claimed.
Chinese Democracy has been mooted for around a decade by Axl Rose, the only surviving member of the band since their days of rock 'n' roll world domination.
However with the group recently completing a
relatively successful and trouble-free European
tour and scheduling more dates in the U.S., new recordings also seem imminent.
According to claims in Rolling Stone this week, Chinese Democracy has officially been scheduled for an American release date of November 21.
MICHAEL JACKSON 'READY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD' -
Michael Jackson is working on an "edgy street record" with a string of producers including Will.I.Am, it has been claimed.
According to the uncle of Ron "Neff U" Feemster, former producer with Eminem, 50 Cent, and Ne-Yo, Jacko has brought in some production big-hitters for the proposed album.
Feemster's uncle, Charles "Big Chuck" Stanton, told the Los Angeles Times that he'd been to the embattled star's new home to discuss the project and met "a musically focused and creatively fired-up Jackson."
Stanton said he is "ready to take over the world. He's got some hot records. Will.I.Am did one, Teddy Riley [did one]. We're giving Michael a lot of edgy street records. He's putting melodies to some hard party records."
There has been no confirmation from Jackson's
camp about the reports.
There's some music news for you all. Feel free to discuss and add anything new. :)
