Programs on history, musicians, society, or wildlife always interest me. I especially enjoy documentaries on musicians because music is my favourite passion.

Anyways, discuss and recommend your favourite documnetaries.

I love the FBI and Forensic Detectives Documentaries!!! Though if I watch it in the night, I start to get all spooked out.

Y'all need to get yourselves some of the Classic Albums DVDs.

Specifically ; the Who's Next and Dark Side of the Moon documentaries, those were the best. Who's Next probably has just a bit too much talking-heads in it, but the Dark Side of the Moon one is far and away the best one in the series.

Besides, watching Pete Townshend playing with an ARP-2600 is a blast.

What bugs me...

How come there are over 7 collective hours of documentaries for The Lord Of The Rings trilogy? Is someone really that bored?

Every subsequent time I've watched The Untold Story documentary on Freddie, that piano playing bitch gets on my nerves more and more? In fact, no more piano for documentaries.

Spike Lee shouldn't make documentaries. When all is said and done, you just hate somebody after watching one. Stick to the movies or NBA games, Spike.

The Lord of the Rings Making-Ofs would be better if they contained more apologies. As it is it's just miles and miles of depressingly sincere self-fellatio sessions.

As if anyone with a brain stem liked that shot where Legolas jumped on the horse usign CGI.... that ruined the film for me.

And there are times you shouldn't 'follow the book'. Like that awful fucking ending in the 3rd film where the Extra-Convenient-Ghost-Army takes away all the nasty orcs. YAWN.

As for the bit at the end of Return of the King, where they had 15 endings and couldn't pick which one to use.... I think the trilogy lost it's credibility.

There's a fantastic video on youtube that makes fun of the 'laughy' ending, it's called LOTR Orgy or something.

I've been watching these a lot lately. Dark Side is TOO cool. Phil Collins' Face Value is a good one too.

The Beatles Anthology is the best documentary I've seen.

I liked it. I've only ever seen the original they played on Australian TV in '95, I haven't ever bought the longer ones.

I've got the book though, which is a big consolation.
