I was wondering if anyone knew/had an opinion about what innuendo is about. I'm not really sure but some people have told me it was about Freddie dying. Any opinions?

I thought it was about the world as they saw it, and how people are wrong in the way they act.
Thats the message I get.

I think for me, it is almost like the journey of Queen, and sometimes I have wondered in quite far off directions with certain songs, such as I Can't Live With You, which could relate to Mary Austin, Headlong could be about the dangers of fame as such, as I said, thoughts that are quite far off. It just seems to me (other than We're All Gods People) the songs relate to some major part of Queen's history, and some songs represent particular elements of their characters, the most obvious for Freddie-Delilah. Any comments on this, it may be a bit far fetched, but meh...

I Can't Live With you is Brian's song, so Mary Austin connection is a little far fetched.

Just to spark some interest, innuendo's definitions are as follows:

1. an oblique illusion: HINT, INSINUATION: esp: a veiled or equivocal reflection on character or reputation.

2. a parenthetical explanation introduced into the text of a legal document.

...if it's a hint, maybe they tried to make a hint of Freddie's forthcoming death...?

With all the song-titles and lyrics.

I know this is something everybody says now that he's dead, but maybe they tried to make a hint to us before he died...?

Might have been him struggiling to overcome his AIDS.
I think that song sums up his 5 years living with AIDS.Didn't he know he had AIDS in the Magic Tour?

Well, I've always thought that Innuendo sounds like a very... angry song. Whenever I listen to it, I always think of Freddie just saying that people are told to live their lives in certain ways ("while we rule by blind, madness, and pure greed"), but everyone really wants to just be themselves ("yeah, we'll keep on tryin'"). Maybe I'm crazy, I don't know. I'm not trying to analyse the song - just that's what I think of everytime I hear it.

As for The Show Must Go On, I always look at it as Freddie, even though he was so sick, wanting to continue composing and recording music. Even though Brian wrote it, I think he wrote it for Freddie about that.

Well, that's just my two cents. Feel free to comment on them in any way.

I do agree with you. I consider this song as very angry and trying to show that we are being manipulated by the so called people, who are also lost. we all try to show our real nature, but have to build our own shells, like shelters to hide from the sickness of the world. being fragile and vunerable is not worth showing. but we "keep on tryin'" to live our way. even if it seems impossible to some of us. i know it may sound a little bit strange and kind of itsy-bitsy in a way but that's the way i look at this song. if we relate this to the video, i guess that interpretaing the lyrics may be a little bit easier. life is a bitch, but we all have only one, so the only way to live and to die is to love it, whatever happens and whoever hurts us.

well my own interp says that the songs about how theres different cultures and how easily ruined they can be by a misled word, and how sensitive the world is, hence the word innuendo. when things are taken wayy too seriously when its unessesary, and then then the time comes where it should be taken seriously, its not.
