I've been a casual collector of bootlegs for a year or so now. I want to ask the die hard collectors: what are the most popular and saught after bootlegs? examples, knebworth 86, Hammertsmith Odeon, or Rock in Rio. What do you feel is the basic list of bootlegs everyone should have?

I think the most "sought after" bootleg right now might just be Drammen 1982.

True. But this topic is about the most standard bootlegs.

I only have a small handful of bootlegs as I generally hate live recordings. Being there at the time is what counts. But I would agree that Hammersmith 79 is probably the most sought after.

Wow, you can't forget Chicago 1980... that is an awesome show.. ok.. so it was the night before I saw them.. still..

12-16-78 is great too.. Oakland Ca, Queen were in REAL tight form that night, and the crowd was awesome.. those 2 are IMO a must have to any boot collection.

Do you want to re-read the question and then see how your answer helps?

The popular ones are the ones that are sold most, ie obtained most easily, ie Hammersmith, Knebworth (and previously Live Aid).

The sought after ones are the ones nobody has.
